Job Description

Your job Operations at WUR are undergoing significant change! We are in the midst of a period of major transformation across business processes, administrative systems and digital platforms. As a functional application manager, your challenge will be to work with the team to ensure the continuity of the current financial platforms and to ensure a smooth transition to a new platform. In this team, you will use your knowledge of, for example, procurement processes, accounting processes, project administration and customer relationship management processes to support users and ensure the software is optimally configured. Your knowledge of IT infrastructure, data models and data management will enable you to make the right choices and refine processes for smooth operational application management. We need your proactive, collaborative and sociable nature to organise all the operational work and the changes effectively. Your main tasks and responsibilities as a functional application manager: you are fluent in the Dutch language functional application management and user support for financial platforms (you’ll focus primarily on Unit4 Business World); acting as a liaison between the user organisation, suppliers and the IT organisation; refining processes for platform management and user support; monitoring security aspects and requirements; ensuring that the platform infrastructure aligns with the requirements and processes of the user organisation. This is where you’ll be working At WUR, you’ll be working within Digitalisation & Information Services (DIS). This department brings together all the teams collaborating on WUR’s digital agenda. Within DIS, there are plenty of opportunities to specialise further and develop your skills in your field. Your team is part of the IT Operations department. The management and support of the financial applications are handled by the Finance, Procurement and Projects (FP&I) team. Here, you will work alongside five functional application managers, a product owner, a scrum master and a business analyst. Together, you will be responsible for the security, continuity and quality of the data in the software used for project administration, expense claims, financial administration and procurement. Your qualities What do we look for in your experience and personality? you are someone who demonstrably takes the initiative easily and knows how to tackle initiatives in an organised manner; you have an outgoing personality; you approach users and colleagues easily to brainstorm, ask questions or tackle tasks together; you have knowledge of complex financial processes at enterprise level, enabling you to understand the work of colleagues in the finance department; you have a demonstrable higher vocational education (HBO) level qualification (via a diploma or a potential assessment); you are familiar with the management and user support of ERP and/or financial applications at enterprise level, involving administrative and process-related complexity. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3,554.- and € 5,698.- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, for this role a contract for 32 hours can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance. Core Responsibilities

Manage and support financial applications, primarily Unit4 Business World, ensuring platform continuity, security, data quality, and effective configuration. Coordinate between users, suppliers, and IT, refine application-management and support processes, and help transition to a new platform.

Requirements

Applicants should have demonstrable higher vocational education (HBO) level and experience managing and supporting enterprise ERP or financial applications with complex administrative processes. They should understand complex enterprise financial processes, take initiative in an organized way, work collaboratively with users and colleagues, and have English proficiency at CEFR B1 level.
