Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join us as an External Consultant and lead the delivery of complex ICT projects within an international, highly regulated environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple IT projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, overseeing external suppliers, and ensuring successful delivery within agreed scope, budget, timelines, and quality standards.
You will work closely with ICT management, PMO teams, programme managers, and business stakeholders to ensure effective project governance, risk management, and successful project delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage multiple complex ICT projects from initiation through successful delivery
Lead projects involving software implementation, cloud deployments, infrastructure, and system integrations
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, Gantt charts, schedules, and project documentation
Monitor project scope, budgets, timelines, resources, and deliverables
Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
Coordinate cross-functional and multicultural teams across international environments
Provide regular project status updates and progress reports to ICT management and senior stakeholders
Ensure effective project governance, including steering committees, checkpoints, and stakeholder meetings
Oversee external suppliers, contracts, deliverables, and vendor performance
Support programme managers and PMO teams in project planning, cost estimation, resource allocation, and reporting
Ensure project deliverables meet agreed quality standards and business requirements
Maintain effective communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive management
Support continuous improvement of project management processes and delivery practices
Minimum 9 years of professional experience in Project Management
Minimum 9 years of experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams in international ICT project environments
Minimum 9 years of experience presenting complex ICT project plans, progress reports, and outcomes in English to stakeholders, including executives and technical teams
Proven experience managing at least 5 end-to-end ICT projects involving software deployments, cloud solutions, infrastructure implementations, and/or external service integrations
Minimum 5 years of experience in an international environment OR at least 2 years within EU institutions or bodies
Minimum 5 years of experience in highly regulated environments, preferably public-sector or government organizations
Minimum 5 years of experience using project management tools, such as Microsoft Project
Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management, including contract oversight, performance monitoring, and stakeholder coordination
Minimum 5 years of experience communicating across multiple organizational levels, including technical teams, management, and executive stakeholders
Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, estimation, budgeting, and resource management
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint timelines and schedule visualizations
Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, and issue escalation
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, reporting, and presentation skills
English proficiency at C1 level or higher
Educational qualifications appropriate to the required professional level
Mandatory Project Management certification, such as:
PRINCE2 Practitioner
PMI PMP
PM² Certified
Or an equivalent recognized certification
Experience managing incremental software integration projects involving internal and external systems
Knowledge of enterprise service bus (ESB) integration and third-party service integrations
Experience with ICT infrastructure projects, including virtual infrastructure, connectivity, and environment deployments
Knowledge of public IT procurement and EU tendering processes
Experience with contract management throughout the project lifecycle
Have extensive experience managing complex ICT projects in international environments
Can confidently lead multicultural teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
Are highly organized and capable of managing competing priorities
Have strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Take ownership of project delivery, risks, budgets, and outcomes
Communicate effectively with both technical specialists and senior executives
Thrive in structured, highly regulated environments
Work on complex, high-impact international ICT projects
Collaborate with experienced technology, business, and project management professionals

Core Responsibilities
The Senior IT Project Manager will lead complex ICT projects from initiation to delivery, managing scope, budgets, and cross-functional teams. They will ensure effective project governance and maintain clear communication with stakeholders, technical teams, and external suppliers.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 9 years of professional experience in project management and leading multicultural teams in international ICT environments. A mandatory project management certification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or PM² is required, along with proficiency in English at a C1 level.
