Functieomschrijving
Als Senior Data Engineer werk je aan de ontwikkeling, inrichting en beheer van onze data-architectuur en -platformen. Dat doe je in nauwe samenwerking met je directe collega engineers, de IT organisatie en EMEA/Global collega’s. Je taken omvatten onder andere:
Data modelling & Medallion-architectuur
- Ontwerpen, implementeren en onderhouden van Medallion-architecturen in Fabric Warehouses en Lakehouses;
- Schrijven en optimaliseren van SQL-queries voor performance en schaalbaarheid.
Semantic layer & analytics engineering
- Ontwikkelen en beheren van semantische modellen (Power BI / Fabric);
- Optimaliseren van Direct Lake (transcoding, memory guardrails);
- Inrichten van data governance, inclusief Row-Level Security (RLS).
Metadata-driven engineering & platformautomatisering
- Werken met en verder ontwikkelen van een declaratief framework (config-driven via XML/JSON);
- Beheren van code-generation tooling (compilers, templates, validatie).
Ingestie, functies & data quality
- Ontsluiten van bronsystemen (o.a. SAP, ServiceNow, APIs);
- Bouwen van Python-functies/notebooks voor data-extracties;
- Implementeren en onderhouden van data quality checks en monitoring.
DevOps & platform management
- Beheren van CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) en Git-integratie met Fabric workspaces;
- Samenwerken met platform- en securityteams rondom deployment en governance.
Functie-eisen
- Ten minste 5 jaar relevante werkervaring als data engineer of in een vergelijkbare rol, op senior niveau.
- Sterk in SQL en datawarehousing: CTE’s, window functions, stored procedures, query tuning en relationeel modelleren (fact/dim, stermodellen).
- Ervaring met Microsoft Fabric en Power BI: Fabric Warehouses, Lakehouses, Data Factory en semantische modellering.
- Software-engineeringmentaliteit: ervaring met Git, CI/CD en Python voor data-extracties en scripting in notebooks.
- Communicatief sterk in Nederlands en Engels; proactief, oplossingsgericht, teamgericht en bereid kennis te delen.
- Pré, geen vereiste: ervaring met C#/.NET, Microsoft Graph API, Entra ID (Azure AD) of ERP-/CRM-structuren zoals SAP en ServiceNow.

Bij Deloitte staat data centraal. Het interne D&A team helpt de business- en supportteams (Strategy, Finance, Marketing, HR, etc.) om ruwe data te transformeren naar heldere, bruikbare inzichten die écht impact maken. Dat doen we vanuit onze centrale Datahub (recent gemigreerd naar Fabric) en gevoed door 40+ (inter)nationale source systems. Het D&A team zelf is een jong, divers team van data analisten (6) en data engineers (3).
Core Responsibilities
You will design, implement, and maintain data architectures and platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Medallion architecture. Additionally, you will develop semantic models, manage CI/CD pipelines, and ensure data quality across various internal source systems.
Requirements
Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a data engineer with strong proficiency in SQL and data warehousing. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, and software engineering practices like Git and CI/CD is required.
