We are looking for a Sourcing & Quality Specialist to join us on a Maternity Cover from December 2026 until June 2027. We are open to both candidates looking for a temporary employment contract and experienced freelancers interested in supporting us during this period.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing Resilience
- Supplier Performance & Risk Management: Deepen and mature supplier performance tracking and risk assessments, translating findings into concrete mitigation plans.
- Sourcing Strategy: Explore opportunities to strengthen sourcing resilience, including identifying new suppliers, sourcing regions and nearshoring options across frames and materials.
- Contract Management & Negotiations: Review and strengthen existing supplier contracts, including commercial negotiations in collaboration with the Legal team.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Quality Framework: Further develop the existing quality framework, including inspection standards, supplier quality control processes and the quality study group, incorporating industry best practices to continuously improve quality standards.
- Root-Cause Analysis: Drive root-cause analysis and implement structural improvements to address recurring quality issues in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and further embed MDR compliance, ensuring regulatory requirements and processes are consistently followed across relevant departments.
You have
- Relevant Experience: Experience in sourcing, procurement, quality assurance or supply chain management, ideally within fashion, eyewear or another consumer product category.
- Supplier & Quality Management: Proven track record of independently managing supplier performance and quality programmes end to end.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Hands-on experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as MDR, CE marking and ISO standards, ideally within eyewear, medical devices or similar regulated products.
- Negotiation Skills: Experience negotiating with suppliers, including commercial agreements and payment terms.
- Analytical Skills: Comfortable developing supplier scorecards, conducting risk assessments and building dashboards, with the ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify opportunities, develop new ideas, build a business case and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ownership & Initiative: Proactive self-starter who works independently, takes ownership and drives initiatives forward without waiting for direction.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- The ability to work from or commute to our Amsterdam HQ

Core Responsibilities
The specialist will manage supplier performance, risk assessments, and sourcing resilience while developing quality frameworks and ensuring regulatory compliance. They will also lead root-cause analysis for quality issues and negotiate commercial supplier contracts.
Requirements
Candidates should have relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, or quality assurance, ideally within the eyewear or consumer goods industry. Proficiency in regulatory frameworks like MDR and ISO standards, along with strong analytical and negotiation skills, is required.
