Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the VAT and Indirect Tax expert for Redcare Pharmacy, advising on complex matters and the implications of new business models, products, services, and commercial initiatives.
• Specialise in VAT issues arising from e-commerce and marketplace/platform activities, translating Dutch, German, and European VAT regulatory changes into practical operational consequences.
• Manage Indirect Tax audits and maintain relationships with external tax advisers and tax authorities.
• Identify VAT and Indirect Tax risks and opportunities, determining appropriate positions and supporting compliance and reporting, including the quality of transactional data.
• Work closely with Finance, IT/data/AI, and commercial stakeholders to ensure VAT and Indirect Tax requirements are correctly reflected in processes and systems.
• Improve VAT and Indirect Tax processes, controls, and automation in a high-volume transactional environment, whilst participating in multidisciplinary projects where VAT and Indirect Tax impact systems, processes, or customer/partner propositions.
• Contribute to the development of the Indirect Tax function and support other members of the VAT and Indirect Tax team in their professional development.

Qualifications

About you:

• Master's degree or equivalent (HBO) in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, Taxation, or related field, with completed fiscal/tax education
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in VAT and Indirect Tax, preferably within a Big 4 accounting or tax advisory firm
• Expert knowledge of Dutch VAT and Indirect Tax regulations, with solid understanding of European and international VAT frameworks; proven ability to translate complex legislation into practical business solutions
• Demonstrated experience managing VAT compliance, tax audits, cross-border transactions, and EU VAT matters, including interactions with tax authorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience improving VAT processes, controls, and automation in high-volume transactional environments
• Fluency in Dutch and English (both written and spoken); excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience working with multinational organisations, ERP systems, and tax technology platforms
• Pragmatic, business-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail and IT-ERP system knowledge
