Job Description
Role: Desktop Support Engineer Location: Zwolle, Netherlands Duration: Backfill / On-demand (On-Site) Key Responsibilities: ● Provide first- and second-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. ● Respond to service requests and incidents via the ticketing system, phone, or in-person. ● Install, upgrade, and maintain operating systems (Windows/macOS/Linux) and software applications. ● Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues (e.g., monitors, keyboards, docking stations). ● Set up and configure new employee workstations, including user accounts and permissions. ● Maintain asset inventory and ensure accurate documentation of IT equipment. ● Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employees from a technical perspective. ● Support remote users with VPN, remote desktop, and connectivity issues. ● Collaborate with other IT teams on escalated issues and project-related tasks. ● Follow security protocols and assist with antivirus, patching, and data protection policies. Preferred Qualifications: ● Experience working in macOS or Linux environments. ● Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator). ● Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and remote management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF). ● Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office 365, and basic networking concepts. ● Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Zendesk, or JIRA.
Core Responsibilities
Provide first- and second-level support for end-user devices, operating systems, applications, and connectivity, responding to incidents and requests through tickets, phone, or in person. Configure employee workstations and accounts, maintain IT asset records, support onboarding and offboarding, follow security procedures, and collaborate with other IT teams on escalations and projects.
Requirements
The posting prefers experience with macOS or Linux, strong Windows and Office 365 knowledge, and familiarity with basic networking and ticketing systems. It also prefers experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, remote management tools such as SCCM, Intune, or JAMF, and relevant IT certifications.
