Job Description

In our Process Development team, we are hiring a Process Development Engineer in the field of laser dicing and laser grooving. Based on the capabilities of our laser dicing and grooving technologies, a Process Development Engineer is responsible for developing laser dicing and laser grooving processes as well as optimizing processes for customer applications. The Process Development Engineer will work closely with Sales & Marketing as well as customers from all over the world to understand the specific requirements to determine the optimum process. A Process Development Engineer has broad experience with several applications of different market segments and can execute development work for new applications or customers. You play an important role during process development at our product center and implementation at the customer’s site. The Process Development Engineer is functionally reporting to ASMPT ALSI’s Process Development Manager. Key Responsibilites: Develop good understanding and knowledge of laser dicing and grooving capabilities for the target applications. Identify and solve challenges in existing processes. Manage sampling, design-in and qualification of the customers’ applications in close cooperation with customers. Analyze experimental results and formulate professional technical reports for both internal and customer use. Expansion of the application fields for full cut laser dicing and grooving techniques. Technical support of international customers and support of our sales department. Development and implementation of processes at customer sites. THIS IS YOU Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent. At least 2 years of work experience ideally but not necessarily in laser material processing. Hands-on, analytical, pragmatic, and structured approach to problem solving. Strong communication, technical writing, and teamwork skills. Customer-oriented and fluent in English. Willingness to travel internationally from time to time. Independent, flexible, and able to perform under pressure. Experienced in data collection, analysis and setting up processes for automated measurements Knowledge of Design-of-Experiments (e.g. using JMP) is a plus. Python coding experience is a plus. Knowledge of laser optics and/or semiconductor processing is a plus. Project leadership experience is a plus. Core Responsibilities

Develop and optimize laser dicing and grooving processes for customer applications, including sampling, design-in, qualification, and implementation at customer sites. Analyze experimental results, document findings in technical reports, expand application areas, and provide technical support to international customers and the sales team.

Requirements

A master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent field and at least two years of work experience are sought, ideally in laser material processing. Candidates should be analytical, hands-on, customer-oriented, fluent in English, and able to communicate and write technically; experience with data analysis and automated measurements is expected, while JMP, Python, laser optics, semiconductor processing, and project leadership are advantages.
