Every bike lease, gym membership and benefit order leaves a trail of data. Today we barely use it. You will change that, and you decide how. Why this role is rare You own it. Pipelines, data model, choice of stack: it is all yours. There is no legacy to work around and no committee to convince. You make the call and you build it. Small team, big company. You join a Product & Tech team small enough that everyone knows what you are working on. Decisions take a conversation, not a quarter. One office day a week, and you choose Amsterdam or Heerenveen. Nobody counts your hours. We look at what you deliver. Visible impact. Sales, Operations and Finance are waiting for numbers they can trust. What you build in month three, the whole company uses in month four. What you will own The pipelines and ETL that bring data from every system into one reliable model. The definitions the company runs on. What is a new customer? How much do we earn on bikes? You settle it with the business. The reports and dashboards that teams and enterprise account managers steer on. The data stack. Nothing is fixed yet. Your experience decides. Data quality, so everyone trusts the same numbers. You report directly to Tim, our CTO. The team has two product owners, a data engineer and thirteen developers in Romania, so we work in English. Who you are You have hands-on experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer. Pipelines, ETL and queries are your daily work. You are strong in SQL. Our application databases run on MySQL and PostgreSQL, and the data comes together in Amazon Redshift. You know your way around a BI tool such as Power BI, Metabase or Tableau. You like people as much as data. You sit down with colleagues to find out what they really need. You are self-steering and you learn fast. You work comfortably in English. Dutch is a plus, but definitely not a deal breaker. Start-up or scale-up experience is a plus. So is experience leading a team: as the data team grows, you are the natural person to lead it. The rest is up to you. A direct line to the CTO and a real say in where data goes next. Room to grow into leading the data team. A pension scheme with Nationale-Nederlanden: a flat 7% contribution, of which we pay half. 8% holiday allowance on your gross annual salary. 25 vacation days per year, based on a 40-hour week. A fixed phone allowance of €30 per month, based on a 40-hour week. Reimbursement of work-related expenses, submitted monthly. About FiscFree FiscFree is the Dutch market leader in tax-efficient employee benefits. Since 2024 we have been part of investor Waterland's portfolio together with bike-lease platform Hellorider, and this year all brands continued under one name. That makes us a thirty-year-old benefits specialist from Heerenveen, a six-year-old bike-leasing scale-up from Amsterdam and a new corporate fitness business in one company. Core Responsibilities

Build and own data pipelines, ETL processes, the data model, and the data stack, bringing information from multiple systems into a reliable source of truth. Define business metrics with stakeholders and deliver trusted reports and dashboards for company teams and enterprise account managers.

Requirements

Candidates should have hands-on data or analytics engineering experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift, and a BI tool such as Power BI, Metabase, or Tableau. They should be self-directed, learn quickly, communicate comfortably in English, and work collaboratively with business colleagues; Dutch, start-up or scale-up experience, and team leadership experience are advantages.
