As Layout Design Engineer at Delft Circuits, you'll turn system architectures into manufacturable flex circuit layouts. You'll work closely with Systems, Application, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and with Production.At Delft Circuits, we build the cryogenic I/O infrastructure behind the next generation of quantum computers. Our Cri/oFlex® technology replaces conventional cryogenic wiring with scalable, integrated superconducting flex circuits. What you'll do Design multilayer flex circuit layouts for cryogenic applications Translate schematics and requirements into layouts: stack-ups, routing, grounding and mechanical constraints Optimize for signal integrity, thermal performance and scalability Create panelization and manufacturing documentation, run DRCs and help automate them Build and maintain a PDK library (layout level) compatible with industrial EDA tools Standardize design rules, build reusable libraries and templates, and support root cause investigations What you bring 3+ years in high-tech or deep-tech (semiconductors, PCB manufacturing, consumer electronics or similar) BSc/MSc in EE, Electronics, Mechatronics, Applied Physics or a related field PCB or flex layout experience and knowledge of PCB/flex manufacturing constraints ECAD tools (Altium, Cadence Allegro, KiCad or similar) Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Python or scripting for design automation Fluent English (Dutch is a plus) Bonus: HDI/flex, ADS/AWR, PDK building, SI/EMC, MCAD, PLM, or a background in cryogenics, RF/microwave, superconducting electronics or quantum. Core Responsibilities
Design multilayer flex circuit layouts for cryogenic applications, translating system schematics and requirements into manufacturable designs while optimizing signal integrity, thermal performance, and scalability. Develop manufacturing documentation and reusable layout libraries, automate design rule checks, standardize design rules, and support production and root-cause investigations.
Requirements
Applicants should have at least three years of experience in a high-tech or deep-tech field, a BSc or MSc in a relevant discipline, and experience with PCB or flex layout and manufacturing constraints. They should be familiar with ECAD tools, able to interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and able to use Python or other scripting for design automation; fluent English is required.
