Mechanical Engineer - Service Engineering Location: Wijchen, Netherlands Company: Mpac Langen Department: Service Engineering Employment: Full-time Help us develop, improve and optimise high-performance automated machinery Are you a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving existing machinery and turning engineering requirements into practical solutions? At Mpac Langen, we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Service Engineering team in Wijchen. You'll work on a varied range of engineering projects, supporting new and existing machinery with mechanical designs, upgrades, modifications and technical improvements. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on mechanical engineering with problem solving, working closely with colleagues across Service, Operations, Sales and Engineering. What will you be doing? As a Mechanical Engineer within Service Engineering, you'll take responsibility for developing and improving mechanical designs for our machinery and equipment. Your responsibilities will include: Developing mechanical concepts and translating technical requirements into practical engineering solutions Designing and modifying machines, assemblies and individual components Creating detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings and Bills of Materials Investigating and resolving mechanical issues on existing machinery Developing upgrades, revisions and customer-specific modifications Selecting appropriate materials and mechanical components Performing mechanical calculations, including static and dynamic calculations Producing pneumatic diagrams and manufacturing documentation Supporting feasibility studies and preliminary engineering activities Preparing technical construction and revision documentation Supporting FAT/SAT activities and inspecting assemblies and components prior to shipment Working closely with Operations, Service, Sales and other Engineering disciplines Supporting suppliers and externally outsourced engineering activities Presenting and explaining designs during technical reviews Identifying opportunities to improve designs, engineering processes and working methods Depending on your level of experience, you may also take the technical mechanical lead on projects, undertake safety risk assessments and support, coach or review the work of more junior engineers. What are we looking for? We're looking for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys working in a machine-building environment and finding solutions to technical problems. Ideally, you'll have: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar engineering discipline Relevant professional experience within mechanical engineering, machine building, automation or a related environment Strong general mechanical engineering knowledge, including materials, components and manufacturing techniques Experience working with 3D CAD software, such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or Pro/ENGINEER The ability to take a concept or specification and develop it into a practical engineering solution Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fits and tolerances An understanding of Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) The ability to perform static and dynamic mechanical calculations Knowledge of machinery safety standards and relevant regulations An interest in working across disciplines, including electrical engineering and software A practical, creative and solution-focused approach Strong planning and organisational skills Good communication and collaboration skills Excellent Dutch and English communication skills, both written and verbal Experience within the machine-building or industrial automation sector would be particularly valuable. Requirements

Candidates should have strong mechanical engineering knowledge, 3D CAD experience, manufacturing and DFMA knowledge, calculation skills, machinery safety awareness, and excellent Dutch and English communication skills.
