Cordaid is looking for a Treasury & Accounts Payable Specialist (36 hours, based in The Hague) As our dedicated and proactive Treasury & Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting an accurate, compliant, and efficient financial administration, accounts payable processing, and operational treasury management across Cordaid. In this key role, you will help safeguard financial integrity, secure reliable payment workflows, and ensure vital cash flow visibility across our global operating structure. You will operate within our corporate governance and integrity compliance framework, working closely with internal teams, procurement, regional field teams, and Shared Services colleagues. What you do Financial & Treasury Administration: Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable accounts payable operations and transaction processing, including managing daily cash flows, bank transactions, and short-term liquidity. Compliance & Governance: Maintain strict adherence to Cordaid’s Integrated Management System, internal control frameworks, donor regulations, and external statutory requirements. Budget & Reporting Support: Support monthly expenditure tracking, budget monitoring, and the compilation of complete financial data/documentation needed for management reporting and donor accountability. Operational Efficiency: Optimize day-to-day transaction workflows and structural balance reconciliations within our financial systems to guarantee smooth operational continuity. Audit & Risk Mitigation: Contribute to a robust internal control environment by maintaining meticulous audit trails, supporting audit processes, and identifying potential financial risks or irregularities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams, procurement, regional field teams, and Shared Services colleagues to ensure a consistent application of standard financial procedures. System Optimization: Support the effective use of corporate financial tools (ERPx) and digital workflow platforms, actively suggesting updates to simplify administrative steps and improve service delivery quality. Integrity Standards: Fulfill all core integrity responsibilities outlined in Cordaid's Integrity Framework, championing a safe, transparent, and highly accountable working environment. Who you are You have relevant education or proven hands-on working experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field. You have a strong foundational understanding of accounts payable processes, international payment systems, and treasury/cash administration. You possess solid knowledge of basic financial bookkeeping, ledger reconciliations, and standard internal controls. You are familiar with financial compliance, donor guidelines, and automated workflow environments (experience with ERPx or similar cloud ERP systems is an advantage). You possess exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical problem-solving skills. You are a collaborative professional with a "One Cordaid" mindset, able to build trusting relationships across varied cultures and teams. You are an adaptable team player with a service-oriented approach who can manage changing priorities under operational pressure. You have an excellent command of English, both spoken and written. Core Responsibilities

Manage accurate accounts payable processing, daily cash flows, bank transactions, and short-term liquidity while maintaining compliance with internal controls, donor rules, and statutory requirements. Support budget monitoring, reporting, reconciliations, audits, risk identification, and improvements to financial systems and workflows in collaboration with internal and regional teams.

Requirements

Relevant education or hands-on experience in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required, along with foundational knowledge of accounts payable, international payments, treasury administration, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and internal controls. Candidates should have strong attention to detail and analytical, collaborative, and adaptable skills, familiarity with compliance and automated workflows, and excellent spoken and written English; French or Dutch and ERPx experience are assets.
