As Finance Manager Corporate Accounting, you are responsible for financial control, accounting and reporting for our corporate entities. You act as a trusted financial sparring partner, translating financial data into clear insights and advice that strengthen cost control as well as managing supporting processes. Your new team You will join the Corporate Accounting team and report to the VP Corporate Accounting. The team is part of Group, bringing together support functions that help Ahold Delhaize’s brands improve the quality and efficiency of their services. Corporate Accounting is responsible for 20–25 legal entities with varying levels of complexity and serves as the center of expertise for treasury and insurance accounting, IT project accounting and intercompany cross-charging. The team optimizes outsourced accounting processes, manages external service providers and supports improvements to the corporate structure. It also partners with the business on cost control, analysis and management information relating to group overhead costs and IT project spend. Key focus areas of your role Lead the financial control, accounting and reporting processes for assigned corporate entities and processes, ensuring accurate, complete and timely reporting in line with Ahold Delhaize requirements and IFRS. Analyze financial data and translate it into actionable insights and management advice that support planning, efficiency, cost control and informed decision-making. Act as a trusted financial sparring partner for stakeholders across Finance, including Tax and Treasury, as well as other support functions, Business Services and external partners. Identify financial risks and areas of non-compliance, define appropriate mitigation actions and monitor their timely execution. Lead the Purchase-to-Pay agenda and the further development of intercompany policies and cross-charging principles. Drive finance projects and improvement initiatives focused on process optimization, standardization and automation. Actively contribute to finance transformation programs and, where applicable, support team capacity. The ingredients you bring Everyone brings their unique flavor. We believe this role comes to life when you bring the following: A higher vocational or university degree in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field. 5-7 years of relevant work experience (in financial controlling, internal control or audit). Strong knowledge of accounting principles and IFRS, combined with solid capabilities in control, analysis and reporting. A strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and the ability to anticipate their financial, operational and control implications. A proven track record in leading finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, procedures and controls. Business acumen and sound judgement, with the confidence to challenge constructively, make complex topics simple and build trusted relationships. A hands-on, pragmatic and results-driven approach, with a strong focus on quality, integrity and getting things done. Clear communication and collaboration skills, fluency in English and the ability to communicate effectively in Dutch. What’s in it for you? Core Responsibilities
Lead financial control, accounting, and reporting for assigned corporate entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS and company requirements. Provide financial insights and advice, manage risks and compliance, lead Purchase-to-Pay and intercompany initiatives, and drive process improvements and finance transformation.
Requirements
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 5–7 years of relevant experience in financial controlling, internal control, or audit are required. Candidates should have strong IFRS and accounting knowledge, experience leading finance improvements, sound business judgment, effective communication skills, and fluency in English with the ability to communicate in Dutch.
