We are looking for a Product Manager who is deeply committed to identifying opportunities to improve customer experience. This role is within the Insurance & Protection vertical, as part of the Offer & Display product group. The successful candidate will lead one of the app teams responsible for two product domains, measured on commercial growth and delivering our customers an excellent purchasing experience. You’ll help customers to be aware of our product offerings, understand the proposition and purchase the right product for their needs. The right candidate has previously worked on iOS and Android consumer-facing products, has previous experience in e-commerce, is comfortable with experimentation, and is able to take a stepped approach to product development to help our customers feel informed, empowered and excited to book with Booking.com. Key Job Responsibilities And Duties Responsible for a dedicated apps product team, defining the short and long term roadmap for the product area, and owning the goals and success metrics. Understand and explain the impact of the team on the Insurance vision and strategy, and how it fits into Booking’s mission. Partner closely with the team Engineering Manager and other cross functional stakeholders such as Design, Content Writing, Research, Compliance and Commercial. Proactively conduct team and domain planning at least two quarters ahead, leading into the 12 month horizon. Work closely with the team of engineers, incorporating Agile ways of working, ensuring consistent understanding of product requirements and direction, and displaying clear priority decision making. Being their internal lead to facilitate effective development, manage dependencies and remove blockers. Identify user needs through various sources of research (quantitative, qualitative, research, benchmarking etc). Partner in the process with the domain Designer to visualise a product problem to help guide their team's direction, developing through to effective UX designs and implementation. Responsible for data analysis, hypothesis driven experimentation, and reporting on the product to drive learnings and improvements to the user experience, driving defined business metrics. Understands how to analyse data and present findings to stakeholders and make product decisions with the results. Advocates for the customer and business in engineering tradeoff decisions. Understands what the most critical elements of the technical solution are and can explain and justify the chosen technical solutions Work closely with other Insurance & Protection front end product managers to learn from each other and ensure aligned and coherent customer experiences across the different platforms. Build a solid product strategy to satisfy the short and long term needs of the business. Responsible for selecting the right methodology for the product that is being developed given the stage of the product life cycle. Works independently with support and coaching from Group Product Manager. Role Qualifications And Requirements At least 5 year of Product Management experience Experience with Jira Customer facing product management of both iOS and Android app platforms. Insurance or regulated product experience is an advantage. Great commercial awareness - Ability to conciliate product and business goals. Strong Problem Solver - Ability to identify and analyse issues, problems or opportunities to achieve desired outcomes, by applying structured thinking and to break down issues to form a logical train of thought that can be followed and understood by others. Creativity and curiosity - A creative problem solver that follows the latest industry trends and has a deep curiosity about our customers, business and product. Excellent communication skills - Being able to effectively communicate both the strategic vision and specific details to various stakeholders, from senior leadership to individual team members. Being able to write clear and concise product documents, requirements, status updates, and results reports. Excellent degree of analytical skills - Able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend effective action plans to resolve issues. Ability to analyse and distill customer feedback from a variety of sources into actionable hypotheses and uncover unmet needs to validate or invalidate new concepts or improve existing products. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills with the ability to achieve mutually agreeable solutions by staying adaptable, communicating ideas in clear coherent language, and practising active listening. Strong influencing skills to be able to align and gain commitment from other teams both within and external to the Insurance business unit. Ability to thrive and work in a fast-paced, results driven environment with multiple responsibilities, whilst also taking the time for personal reflection and growth on individual and product skills. Experience as an Agile Product Manager. Previous experience with e-commerce, funnel optimisation, conversion rate optimization. A track record of shipping global, impactful e-commerce products is a plus. Proven experience of working effectively with and communicating to a diverse set of stakeholders. Solution oriented and outcome driven. Be a highly motivated self-starter with a flexible, can-do attitude. Able to understand and formulate meaningful business metrics. Fluent in the English language both spoken and written.
Core Responsibilities
Lead an app product team by defining its roadmap, strategy, goals, and success metrics, while coordinating with engineering, design, research, compliance, and commercial stakeholders. Use customer research, data analysis, and hypothesis-driven experimentation to improve the purchasing experience and achieve business outcomes.
Requirements
Requires at least five years of product management experience, including customer-facing iOS and Android products, Agile practices, and e-commerce or conversion optimization experience. Candidates should bring strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; insurance or regulated-product experience is an advantage, and English fluency is required.
