Job Description
Relationship Marketing Manager (4–5 days per week) Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) – Amsterdam Do you believe strong relationships can change education — and the world? The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), founded by Maria Montessori in 1929, is looking for a Relationship Marketing Manager to grow, strengthen and connect our global community of educators, schools, training centres, members, partners and changemakers. Small team, big potential Let’s be upfront: our Marketing & Communications team is small and our resources are limited. There is no large department or ready-made playbook waiting for you. What there is: a worldwide network, a mission with nearly a century of history, and a lot of untapped potential. That makes this a rare opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial relationship marketer. You will have real ownership from day one, see your ideas go live quickly, and help shape how this role — and our approach to relationship marketing — develops in the years ahead. Your impact • Map and segment AMI’s global audiences — members, schools, training centres, affiliated societies, students, trainers, teachers, partners and families — and turn those insights into practical engagement plans • Play a leading role in shaping AMI’s membership value proposition and our growing relationship with schools through the new Global School Accreditation programme • Design relationship journeys that keep people connected as they move on, for example from student to graduate teacher, trainer or member • Help develop and make the most of our CRM and engagement systems, ethically and in line with GDPR • Work with colleagues across our Capacity, Outreach and Legacy programmes to improve reach, reputation and revenue • Set up clear reporting on growth, retention and participation — and use it to keep improving Who we’re looking for • Experience in relationship marketing, membership engagement or stakeholder communications • Hands-on experience with CRM systems and digital engagement tools, ideally including helping to select or implement them • A solid understanding of retention and lifecycle journeys • Resourceful and pragmatic: you get results with a modest budget and see limited resources as a creative challenge • A self-starter who takes initiative, sets priorities and enjoys building something from the ground up • Comfortable working across teams in an international, multicultural environment • Excellent writing, listening and interpersonal skills, with a clear, warm communication style • Experience in a non-profit, education or membership organisation is a plus What we offer • Real ownership and visible impact in a small team where your contribution matters • Room to grow: the role can develop as your results and ambitions grow • Close collaboration with colleagues across Communications, Digital, Membership, Legacy, Pedagogy and Outreach • A purpose-driven, international organisation shaping the future of education, social impact and human development Practical details Salary: €3,800 – €4,900 per month (depending on experience and working days) Contract: 4-5 days per week Location: Amsterdam Work model: • Three days per week in the office • If working four or five days: one to two days from home Why AMI? If you are looking for a role where you can make your mark, rather than fill an existing slot, this is it. Join a small, committed team with a global mission — where strategy meets purpose, and relationships drive real change.
