Process Engineer – Tilburg
Thermo Fisher Scientific in Tilburg is responsible for the development and manufacturing of commercial medicines in the form of softgel capsules.
As a Process Engineer, you help improve the performance, robustness and capability of our commercial manufacturing processes. You combine process engineering, data analysis and practical problem solving to translate manufacturing challenges and opportunities into sustainable technical improvements.
In addition, you will lead assigned technical improvement and CAPEX projects, working closely with Operations, Maintenance & Engineering, Quality, Validation, PPI and other technical functions.
What will you do?
- Develop a strong technical understanding of assigned manufacturing processes and process/equipment interactions.
- Analyze manufacturing and process data to identify opportunities to improve process capability, robustness, yield and manufacturability.
- Develop and implement technical process improvements and assess whether the intended performance improvements are achieved.
- Provide process engineering expertise for complex or recurring manufacturing issues where deeper process understanding is required.
- Lead assigned process improvement and CAPEX projects, including defining technical requirements, evaluating solutions and coordinating implementation with multidisciplinary teams.
- Provide process engineering input during equipment design, commissioning, qualification and implementation of new or modified processes and equipment.
- Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert for assigned manufacturing processes and support validation, process changes and lifecycle activities where required.
- Ensure technical activities and improvements are performed in accordance with applicable GMP, quality and EH&S requirements.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (HBO/WO) in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology or another relevant technical/scientific discipline.
- Relevant experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, production engineering or a comparable technical role.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills and an understanding of manufacturing processes and process/equipment interactions.
- Experience with technical projects; experience with CAPEX projects is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of GMP, quality systems and validation principles.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or comparable improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
