Job Description

ABOUT THE JOB

At TCR, procurement sits at the crossroads of operations, commercial strategy, and supplier management. With a fleet spanning 245+ airports across 25+ countries, the decisions made at group level have a direct impact on our operational excellence. We are now creating a Head of Procurement role to bring dedicated strategic leadership to this function.

As Head of Procurement, you will own a broad and varied scope, with GSE and spare parts procurement at the core (roughly 50% of the role). Beyond assets, you will cover other high-value group-level spend categories such as IT services, facilities, logistics, and insurance. A key part of your value is the ability to shift priorities fluently between large commercial and supplier projects and ongoing cost-saving programmes. You will work closely with the Commercial Community and local Managing Directors across our country operations, acting as a trusted partner who understands the business and translates commercial opportunities into results. This role can be based in Madrid, Schiphol, London or Brussels (Steenokkerzeel) and reports directly to the COO. (This is what we mean by 'remote working').

We are looking for a senior procurement professional who combines strategic thinking with hands-on commercial acumen — someone as comfortable in a boardroom negotiation as they are reviewing a supplier scorecard or challenging a local MD on spend discipline.

WHERE YOU'LL CREATE THE MOST IMPACT

  • Define and drive TCR's group procurement strategy across all spend categories, aligning with our business priorities, growth agenda, and CSRD commitments

  • Build and develop TCR's procurement organisation and capabilities, clarifying responsibility for the operating model and the skills required as the function matures

  • Lead negotiations on TCR's most strategically significant contracts, including GSE manufacturers and suppliers, spare parts suppliers, IT service providers, facility management partners, workshop infrastructure, fleet-related insurance and financing, and group-level logistics and transport arrangements

  • Drive financial value creation beyond savings, including total cost of ownership, cost avoidance, working capital and payment terms, and broader contribution to business performance

  • Build and govern a category management framework, mapping TCR's total spend landscape, segmenting categories by strategic importance, and deploying the right sourcing levers for each

  • Own and continuously improve TCR's portfolio of group frame agreements, ensuring local entities actually leverage them and that compliance is tracked and reported

  • Work closely with members of the Commercial Community as primary steering stakeholders, and translate group priorities into action in collaboration with local Managing Directors, acting as a trusted procurement advisor who adds value beyond cost reduction

  • Build and manage a strategic supplier management programme, including structured performance reviews, SLA governance, supplier financial health, supply continuity, critical capacity and spares, contractual exposure, and escalation processes for critical partners

  • Strengthen the link between procurement and fleet, capex and demand planning, so sourcing strategies are based on forward visibility of requirements and supplier capacity

  • Establish procurement governance standards and policies across the group, including approval workflows, supplier due diligence, contract lifecycle management, and spend visibility

  • Define and track procurement KPIs, delivering regular reporting to senior leadership on savings realised, pipeline initiatives, supplier performance, and category progress

  • Drive continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools, including the evaluation and implementation of digital procurement solutions where relevant

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a procurement or strategic sourcing role, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership position; experience in a multi-country or group-level environment is a strong plus

  • Proven track record of owning and closing high-value, complex negotiations, with asset or technical procurement at the core; experience in other categories such as IT services or facilities is an additional asset

  • Strong strategic mindset combined with practical execution ability; you can design a category strategy and also roll up your sleeves to get contracts signed

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; you are comfortable influencing at C-level and working collaboratively with country MDs who have strong opinions and full P&L accountability

  • Master's degree or equivalent level of thinking, preferably in business, engineering, finance, or supply chain; a genuine technical interest and affinity with industrial equipment is a must; fluent in English (other languages are a plus); willingness to travel.

WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE WORKING WITH US

  • This is a newly created role, which means you get to shape it. You will have real influence over how TCR's procurement function is built, and the impact you create will be visible from day one.

  • You'll join a smart, grounded team that moves fast and backs each other. No egos, just results.

  • We show up because the energy's real. Great conversations, fast decisions, and plenty of fun thanks to our Happiness Team's regular events and drinks.

  • You'll grow by doing, building what's next, and being trusted to lead.

  • One team, 25+ countries, shared goals. Work that fits life, not the other way around.

  • And most of all, we live our values: integrity, open-mindedness, accountability, and passion. Every day.
