Job Description

Build AI that runs inside real industrial and biological systems, with your mornings, evenings and weekends free to enjoy Bali. 4–6 months · 25-hour week, 11 AM–5 PM · lunch Monday to Friday · unpaid · next start: 1 November 2026 (we hire on a rolling basis, later starts are possible) WHAT YOU'LL DO Work on AI and machine learning for industrial and bioproduction systems, from data and models to experiments and deployment. You'll build and test models, run experiments on real operational data, and help turn research ideas into software that works inside real systems. You'll work alongside our engineers on real projects, not exercises. WHO WE ARE Thirty years building companies across New York, London, and Tokyo, now operating from a 4,000 sqm campus in Canggu. $150M+ raised and deployed across energy, bioproduction, and AI infrastructure. Depending on team needs and your interests, you may work on: Gemino AI: safe reinforcement learning for industrial control, plus Project Maya, a wearable AI platform Seraph Group: decentralized bioproduction combining AI, robotics, and synthetic biology Zero-X: thermochemical conversion and distributed energy, 200+ systems live across 11 countries WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH Real AI projects for your portfolio, applied to industrial and biological systems An internship certificate Full support with university requirements: we handle the paperwork and join meetings with your university An international community of interns and engineers A path to a full-time role across the group for strong interns WHAT IT COSTS This internship is unpaid. Indonesian visa rules for internships require it, so we can't offer stipends or scholarships. You cover your own flights, visa, and living costs. Lunch is on us Monday to Friday, and rooms on campus are available at competitive rates. Living in Bali typically costs about €500–1,000 per month, depending on your lifestyle. WHO YOU ARE Studying, or recently graduated in, computer science, AI or machine learning, data science, engineering, or a related field Programming experience in Python and some hands-on machine learning (coursework, projects, a thesis or competitions all count) Curious, reliable, and ready to work on-site in Bali for 4–6 months You don't need to know reinforcement learning already. If you've trained a model and want to see how AI behaves in real systems, apply. This internship can count toward a university requirement. Requirements

Applicants should be studying or recently graduated in computer science, AI or machine learning, data science, engineering, or a related field, and have Python programming experience plus hands-on machine learning experience. They should be curious and reliable, and able to work on-site in Bali for 4–6 months; prior reinforcement learning knowledge is not required.
