Preview Proceed to Checkout Pay Later Cancel Employment Opportunities ◄ Back to All Categories Equipment Operator I&I General Description The Sanitary Sewer Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) department is responsible for cleaning, televising, evaluating, maintaining, and rehabilitating the City’s sanitary sewer system; supporting the I&I Reduction Program; monitoring contractor work; and collecting, reviewing, and maintaining information used to evaluate system condition and reduce inflow and infiltration. The I&I Equipment Operator performs both field operations and technical/data-related duties. Assignments may emphasize field crew work, computerized inspection and records work, or a combination of both based on department needs, employee training, and demonstrated ability. Employees in this classification are expected to develop the skills necessary to support the full range of I&I activities rather than being limited to only field or office functions. As a public employee, this position is responsible for supporting reliable utility service and may be required to respond to emergency repairs and other operational needs outside normal working hours. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. Possession a valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Experience in underground utilities or closely related work such as construction, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, data/inspection work, or similar experience is desirable. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Collection license within 18 months of hire. Possession of, or ability to obtain, NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP certification within 18 months of hire. The City may consider a combination of education, certifications, training, and experience in evaluating a candidate. Requirements
