Job Description
About this role You will be responsible for the development and industrialisation of our robots. You will turn new ideas into reliable products that can be manufactured. You will play a hands-on role in developing prototypes, whilst also considering how we can produce our robots on a large scale. What we offer A good salary of between €3,800 and €5,500 (gross per month, based on a 40-hour working week) Full-time contract (32–40 hours), 30 days holiday Space and freedom to innovate and try new ideas Close collaboration with colleagues and robotics experts at our office on the TU Delft Campus, and participation in community events Daily team lunches Flexible working hours and hybrid work; at least 3 days per week on site Laptop and mobile device or SIM What are you going to do? Hardware development Designing and optimising robot mechanics in Fusion 360. Designing and optimising PCBs in KiCad. Designing electrical schematics and wiring harnesses. Selecting components and standardising hardware. Industrialisation Preparing designs for production. Collaborating with suppliers for sheet metal work, 3D printing, PCB assembly and wiring harnesses. Improving manufacturability, reliability and costs. Managing bills of materials (BOMs). Suppliers and production Procurement of parts for prototypes and small production runs. Stock management of critical components. Overseeing the first production runs. Prototype construction Building, testing and improving prototypes yourself. Analysing and solving problems. Actively contributing ideas on mechanical, electrical and practical improvements. Compliance Supporting CE certification. Compiling technical documentation. Collaborating with external certification bodies where necessary. System Development Ensuring the integration of mechanical, electronic and cabling systems into a reliable robotic system. Aligning design choices with production, assembly and servicing. Monitoring the compatibility of hardware components throughout the entire development cycle. Who are we looking for? Someone who enjoys managing hardware. Ideally, you will have experience in several of the following areas: Mechatronics, integration of motors, encoders, sensors and drive systems. Robotics, embedded hardware, manufacture of machines or robots. Mechanical design, such as experience with 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or Fusion 360), knowledge of sheet metal work, machining and 3D printing, understanding of tolerances and manufacturability, designing for assembly (DfA) and production (DfM). Electronics development, such as the ability to read and draw up schematics, soldering of PCBs and wiring, working with power supplies, relays, connectors and fuses, and a basic understanding of EMC and electrical safety. Testing and troubleshooting, such as systematically analysing faults, practical testing and iterative improvement. You don’t have to be an expert in everything, but you enjoy learning new things. You’ll be a good fit if you… …have a hands-on approach, aren’t put off by a soldering iron or a CAD model, and would rather build a prototype than create a PowerPoint presentation. …have strong problem-solving skills, can quickly identify the cause of faults, think in terms of solutions, and thrive on variety. …take responsibility and see things through to the end. …work accurately and in a structured way, deliver high-quality work and document changes. …are keen to learn, pick up new techniques quickly, are open to feedback and enjoy working in a small team.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and industrialise robots by designing mechanical and electrical hardware, building and testing prototypes, and preparing designs for reliable, cost-effective production. Coordinate suppliers and production, manage components and bills of materials, support CE certification, and ensure mechanical, electronic, and cabling systems work together.
Requirements
The role calls for hands-on experience in several areas such as mechatronics, robotics, mechanical CAD design, electronics development, manufacturing, and prototype testing. Candidates should be practical problem-solvers who work accurately and systematically, take responsibility, document changes, and are eager to learn and collaborate in a small team.

About Dalco Robotics
Industry: Robot Manufacturing
Company size: 2-10 employees
