About the Role We are looking for an experienced Temporal Workflow Consultant to support an intensive two-day proof of concept focused on redesigning a business-critical contract workflow. The current end-to-end contract process runs within Salesforce and is being reconsidered from the ground up. As part of this exploration, the team will run parallel proof-of-concepts using Azure-based workflow capabilities and Temporal. During a two-day hackathon, your role is to represent the Temporal perspective: advise the team, challenge architectural decisions and, most importantly, get hands-on. You will help the team build, test, break and evaluate a working solution to understand how Temporal performs against the requirements of a complex contract workflow. This is initially a two-day engagement. If Temporal is selected as the preferred technology, there is a strong possibility of follow-up work supporting the implementation. About the Organization The organization is a large, established company operating in a highly process-driven commercial environment. Technology plays an important role in supporting complex contractual processes and transactions at scale. The organization has substantial internal engineering capabilities and is actively modernizing parts of its application and workflow landscape. This initiative is focused on making a critical end-to-end process more robust, scalable and maintainable. Deliverables Guide the team during a two-day Temporal POC/hackathon. Design and build a representative contract workflow using Temporal. Advise on workflow architecture, orchestration and implementation patterns. Actively test and deliberately stress or “break” the solution to expose limitations and edge cases. Demonstrate Temporal concepts including durable execution, retries, failure handling and long-running workflows. Compare architectural implications with the alternative Azure-based approach. Help the team understand where Temporal adds value and where potential complexity or risks exist. Provide pragmatic recommendations for a potential production implementation. Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Temporal in production-grade or complex environments. Solid background in workflow orchestration, distributed systems and backend architecture. Able to move quickly from architecture discussions to working code. Comfortable working in an intensive hackathon/POC setting where experimentation and challenging assumptions are expected. Experience with Azure and/or Salesforce environments is beneficial but not mandatory Strong consulting and communication skills, with the ability to guide experienced internal engineers. Pragmatic mindset: focused on proving what works rather than creating theoretical architecture. AI-savviness and experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, testing or engineering workflows is a plus.

Requirements

Requires strong hands-on Temporal experience in production-grade or complex environments, along with a solid background in workflow orchestration, distributed systems, and backend architecture. The consultant must be able to build quickly, guide experienced engineers, communicate effectively, and work pragmatically in an intensive proof-of-concept setting; Azure or Salesforce experience and AI-assisted development are beneficial.
