Job Description

Nemho Innovations in Weert, The Netherlands Who are we? Nemho is the center for innovation, technology, and sustainability within the Broadview Materials Group. Our mission is to help Broadview companies remain the reference in their industries by developing future-proof products, technologies, and processes that create value for decades to come. From our headquarters in Weert, the Netherlands, we work closely with our Centers of Expertise in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the United States. Our multidisciplinary team of more than 50 engineers, chemists, technicians, and researchers combines scientific expertise with industrial know-how to develop innovative materials, optimize manufacturing processes, and drive technological innovation across the group. Through innovation and sustainability, we create high-performance materials and more efficient production technologies that contribute to a better future. What will you do? Are you passionate about chemistry, materials, and innovation? Do you enjoy transforming experimental data into practical solutions that can be applied in industry? During this internship project, you will contribute directly to the development of advanced solid surface materials, widely used in interior design, sanitary applications, and architecture. These materials combine aesthetics, durability, and performance, but their success depends heavily on the chemistry behind them. You will work on R&D challenges and help us better understand, optimize, and scale material formulations and manufacturing processes. Your research will support the development of innovative materials that are ultimately used around the world. Depending on your interests and educational background your project could include: Chemical mixture and recipe optimization using Design of Experiments (DoE) methodologies Laboratory evaluation of formulations and material properties Modelling and analysis of curing and reaction kinetics Assessment of new raw materials and additives The assignment can be tailored to your educational background, interests, and experience. What do you bring We are looking for a student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. You should have professional fluency in both spoken and written English; Dutch is a plus. Additionally, you are eager to solve complex problems and have a strong interest in material formulation, DoE, and laboratory experimentation. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to ask bold questions, test ideas, and propose smarter solutions. Join our energetic R&D team at Nemho, where innovation drives our mission. This is an opportunity to grow professionally and work in a dynamic and innovative environment. If you're ready to make a real impact on next-generation materials and more sustainable manufacturing, we want you on our team! Interested? We'd love to hear from you. Send your application or questions to [email protected].

Core Responsibilities

Contribute to research and development of advanced solid surface materials by optimizing chemical mixtures and formulations, evaluating material properties in the laboratory, and analyzing curing and reaction kinetics. Assess new raw materials and additives, using experimental findings to support improved formulations and scalable manufacturing processes.

Requirements

Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field, and have professional fluency in spoken and written English. The role calls for an interest in material formulation, Design of Experiments, and laboratory work, along with curiosity and a willingness to test ideas and solve complex problems; Dutch is a plus.
