Operations Associate
Key Skills
Job Description
Operations Associate – TradeZero Europe B.V. Amsterdam, Beursplein 5 You’ve learned the operational foundations. You're looking for more responsibility, broader exposure, and the chance to improve how things are done. At TradeZero Europe, you’ll help build our international brokerage business—taking ownership, solving problems and improving how we operate, with experienced colleagues to learn from. We provide European investors and active traders with access to US equities and equity options. Our Amsterdam team is part of a global business of around 200 people, with our own trading platforms, execution infrastructure and clearing operations. You’ll work daily with teams across the world and gain exposure to the full trading lifecycle. This is a scale-up in the truest sense: things move quickly, priorities shift, and we expect people to take ownership and step up when the business requires it. We're looking for people with an entrepreneurial mindset who want real ownership and are excited to help shape a growing company, not just join one. Based at Beursplein 5 in the heart of Amsterdam’s financial district, this role is suited to someone early in their career, with one to three years of relevant work experience. Your Role As an Operations Associate, you’ll work across day-to-day operations, risk management and client services, gaining broad, hands-on exposure to how a broker-dealer operates. You’ll take ownership of assigned tasks and follow issues through to resolution, with guidance from management and experienced colleagues. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with data, solving processing challenges and finding opportunities to automate and improve recurring processes, while taking ownership of the accuracy and reliability of the output. Your responsibilities will include: Reconciling trades, positions and P&L from execution through settlement. Performing daily and periodic reconciliations across banks, clearing brokers and internal ledgers. Monitoring cash balances, funding flows and margin calls, and coordinating required actions. Calculating, reconciling and booking fees, interest and rebates. Checking client statements against internal books and records. Identifying and resolving data quality issues across operational and financial systems. Reviewing new accounts against established regulatory compliance requirements and escalating cases where needed. Preparing information for regulatory reporting and audits. Identifying operational risks and helping design and implement improvements in controls and processes. Providing front-line client service, responding to inquiries and taking ownership of their resolution. Your Profile A proactive attitude, with a strong sense of ownership and an entrepreneurial mindset. Flexibility and commitment, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced scale-up. A genuine interest in securities trading and the operational and administrative processes behind it. One to three years of hands-on experience in securities operations, with exposure to trade processing, settlement, reconciliations or related operational activities. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Econometrics, Business Administration or a related field. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and an openness to feedback, with a drive to keep learning and improving. A service-minded approach and clear communication skills, including when dealing with clients. Fluency in English; proficiency in an additional language is an advantage. Applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands. We do not provide visa or work permit sponsorship at this time. Willingness to work on-site at our Amsterdam office at Beursplein 5, where you’ll collaborate closely with the local team and learn directly from senior management. Your Opportunity Get close to the action, with hands-on experience across operations, risk management and client services in securities trading. Direct mentorship and close collaboration with experienced colleagues. Help shape our European business while working closely with colleagues across the US, Canada, the Bahamas, Ireland and India, spanning brokerage operations, risk and compliance, client experience, finance, technology and vendor management. An informal and supportive working environment where people are encouraged to ask questions, speak up and suggest better ways of doing things. An early-career position with significant growth potential and the opportunity to take on broader responsibilities as your expertise develops. A base salary reflecting your experience and capabilities, with a bonus recognising outstanding contributions and results. Join a friendly, ambitious bunch of foodies, wine lovers and sports enthusiasts; we take our work seriously and enjoy getting to know the people we work with.
