About The Role We are looking for a Senior Trade Surveillance Officer to strengthen our second line defence against market abuse across our MiCAR/MiFID II regulated trading activities. You will own our trade surveillance program end to end, from conducting the market abuse risk assessment and designing detection coverage, to investigating suspicious orders and transactions and deciding on regulatory filings. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who can operate independently, translate regulatory complexity into practical controls, and act as the internal go to expert for trade surveillance What You'll Be Doing Own the market abuse risk assessment, review and maintain it across products, venues, client types, trading strategies and market structure Own and continuously improve the trade surveillance framework, covering insider dealing, unlawful disclosure, and market manipulation under the Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) and MiFID II/MiFIR and MiCAR Assess and extend surveillance coverage against new products, services, trading venues and market structure changes, mapping each scenario back to the risk assessmentManage the quality and completeness of order, trade, reference and communications data feeding the surveillance system Monitor feed latency and alert generation latency, and define acceptable time-to-detect and time-to-review thresholds by riskTriage alerts, assess and investigate suspicious orders and transactions, document findings, and decide on and file Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports (STORs) with the relevant competent authority without delay Drive significant, cross functional projects (e.g. surveillance system tuning, transaction reporting quality reviews, insider list process redesign) with a high degree of autonomy and accountability Own maintenance of the trade surveillance policy, insider list, personal account dealing controls, alert logic, and management information that improves both compliance outcomes and team efficiency Partner with Trading, Legal, Risk, and Product to deliver strategic compliance outcomes, including new product reviews, market structure changes, and regulatory change projects What We're Looking For Hands-on experience running, tuning and calibrating trade surveillance systems, and leading market abuse investigations from alert to closure, including STOR decision-making 6+ years of relevant compliance/surveillance/regulatory experience, with a strong focus on market abuse in a MiFID II or MICAR regulated company Comfortable working directly with order book, trade and communications data, ideally with SQL or Python, to build a clear, defensible narrative Deep, practical knowledge of MAR, MiFID II/MiFIR, and related technical standards (e.g. RTS 22 transaction reporting, insider list requirements). Core Responsibilities

Own and continuously improve the trade surveillance program, including risk assessments, detection coverage, data quality, alert investigations, and decisions on filing Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports. Maintain surveillance policies and controls, lead cross-functional compliance projects, and partner with Trading, Legal, Risk, and Product on regulatory and product changes.

Requirements

Requires at least six years of relevant compliance, surveillance, or regulatory experience, including hands-on operation and calibration of trade surveillance systems and leadership of market abuse investigations through closure. Candidates should have practical knowledge of MAR and MiFID II/MiFIR, strong data analysis skills (ideally SQL or Python), excellent written communication, and confidence engaging with regulators and senior stakeholders; MiCAR knowledge is desirable.
