Job Description

Are you ready for a new challenge in a dynamic scaleup environment? At SunLED Life Science, we're harnessing the power of near-infrared light to transform indoor environments and improve human health. We're looking for a talented electronics engineer to join our innovative team and help turn our groundbreaking ideas into working prototypes and amazing products! As our electronics engineer, you'll be at the forefront of creating technology and products that make a real difference in people's lives. You'll work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team where your creativity and technical skills will make a real difference. Here is what you will mainly be up to as electronics engineer in our team: You work with our product designers, product manager, and scientists to develop demo’s, proof-of- technology, and proof-of-concept devices based on our cutting edge SunLED technology, from sketch on paper to execution. When prototypes are advancing towards minimum viable products or mass-production, you contribute to the DFM process, alignment with (production) partners, and sourcing information on materials and components. In a joint development process with partners, you guide the partner’s engineers to make sure that the final product meets the requirements. As the team is small, collaboration and helping each other is key to achieve our goals on various projects and topics. We share ideas and results, spark creativity, and drill down on fundamental problems. Your work will lead to new intellectual property and manufacturing breakthroughs. You will contribute to our intellectual property through technical inventions and patents. IS IT YOU WE’RE LOOKING FOR? You: Have up to 10 years of experience as an electronics engineer in the lighting, consumer electronics, or related industry. Are possess knowledge of power electronics, control theory, and mixed-signal design. As such, you are skilled in using simulation tools like MATLAB/ Simulink and Spice to analyze power electronics circuits and develop control algorithms. Are familiar with: Optical devices such as LED and lasers, sensor technologies, (wireless) connectivity protocols, and microprocessor peripherals. Have knowledge and experience in writing embedded software for microcontroller-based applications as well as hardware-software integration. Bring strong hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and validating electronic systems, along with problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex multidomain systems. Have expertise in signal integrity design and analysis for mixed-signal PCB layouts, with an emphasis on minimizing noise, reducing crosstalk, and ensuring compliance with EMI regulations. You are also skilled in using PCB design software such as Altium and KiCad for creating board layouts. Are familiar with design for manufacturability and reliability, quality control, and test protocols. You have experience with pre-compliance testing (CE, UL, FCC, EMI, wireless, safety). Provide expertise and present technical details in communication with business partners, suppliers, and design agencies. Bring a curious and flexible mindset to our interdisciplinary, multicultural team working on groundbreaking innovations. Live in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit. WHAT WE OFFER A dynamic and ambitious organization full of ambition to make the world a better place. Relaxed working culture: We value good coffee and have regular fun activities (voluntarily). About SunLED Life Science

Industry: Retail Health and Personal Care Products

Company size: 11-50 employees

SunLED Life Science is an Amsterdam-based research team developing health and wellness technologies that harness the power of near-infrared light. Today, most of us spend 90% of our waking hours indoors, missing out on the vital benefits of natural sunlight. We address this deficiency creating technologies with near-infrared light - a crucial component of sunlight. The benefits include improved mood, reduced drowsiness on the road and at the workplace, better immune system function and more. And this is just the beginning. Our ongoing research explores how near-infrared light benefits the human body through photobiomodulation therapy (PBM), unlocking even more potential. SunLED can be seamlessly integrated into various applications, from screens and lighting fixtures to car dashboards (DMS systems) and more. Let’s bring the sun inside together!
