We're building the teams that take us to the next stage. The role At qlub, engineers don't write code by hand anymore, and they don't read it line by line either. AI agents do the implementation. Our engineers decide what gets built, specify it precisely, direct the agents, and prove the result is correct and safe before it touches a single payment. As our next AI Engineer, you'll own that loop end to end: from turning a salon's problem into a clear spec, to orchestrating agents that build, test and ship it, to verifying it through tests, evals and observability rather than code review by eye. You'll ship real results from day one. You'll also build the agentic systems our salons and teams use: agents that reason, retrieve information, call tools and execute controlled workflows across bookings, payments and operations. You'll work closely with product, operations, salon partners and booking-platform partners to turn frictionless payments into real growth for beauty businesses. What You’ll Own Direct AI agents to design, build and operate secure, reliable payment services for salons: checkout, booking deposits and no-show fees, tips and tip splitting across staff, refunds, reconciliation and settlement Own integrations with salon management and booking platforms, payment providers, financial partners and other third-party systems, specified and delivered through agents Write the specs, acceptance criteria, test suites and evals that define "done", so agent output is verified by evidence rather than by reading the code Design and run the agentic development workflow itself: which agents do what, how they're prompted and given context, and how their work is checked, merged and deployed Build AI-powered and agentic products for salons and internal teams, such as agents that answer client questions, manage booking and payment exceptions, or handle reconciliation, using retrieval, tool calling and controlled actions Put permissions, human approvals, guardrails, observability, audit trails and fallbacks around every agent that can touch money, client data or a salon's calendar Find and fix bottlenecks in speed, reliability, security and cost, including LLM and agent cost Who You Are You already build with agents as your default way of working, not as an add-on to hand-coding You've shipped production software in a fast-moving, high-growth environment You move fast and make strong decisions with incomplete information You take real ownership and think like an operator, not a coordinator You're energised by hard problems in payments, beauty and wellness, and client experience You trust evidence over output: if it isn't tested, measured and observable, it isn't done What You’ll Need Proven experience shipping production-grade software, with a track record of doing it through AI coding agents Fluency in English is a must Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows in production Strong grasp of system design: REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing and distributed systems Solid knowledge of databases, data modelling and database design Experience with payment providers, booking or POS systems, or complex third-party integrations A clear understanding of AI-system risks: hallucinations, prompt injection, data leakage, non-deterministic behaviour and unsafe tool execution, and how to contain them Experience with automated testing, evals, observability, debugging and performance optimisation Nice to have Experience in payments, fintech, beauty and wellness tech, booking platforms or a high-growth marketplace Experience with payment gateways, transaction processing, settlement, reconciliation, or chargeback systems Experience building agents that operate on APIs, databases, internal tools or operational workflows Familiarity with model evaluation, prompt and context management, AI observability, guardrails or LLM cost optimisation Experience running multiple coding agents in parallel, or building the tooling and CI that keeps them safe Exposure to vector databases, embeddings, semantic search or retrieval systems Experience with cloud platforms, containerised services, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR and secure development practices What we offer Real ownership over products that impact millions of diners and thousands of restaurants globally The opportunity to solve challenging problems in payments, hospitality, and customer experience A fast-moving environment where great ideas quickly become reality Close collaboration with experienced operators, builders, and industry experts A chance to leave a visible mark on one of the fastest-growing restaurant technology companies globally Ready to build? Core Responsibilities

Direct AI agents to build and operate secure payment services and integrations for salons, and define specifications, tests, and evaluations that verify their work. Develop agentic products and workflows, adding permissions, human approvals, guardrails, observability, and audit trails while improving reliability, security, speed, and cost.

Requirements

Requires experience shipping production-grade software using AI coding agents, along with hands-on production experience with LLM APIs, tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows. Candidates should have strong system design and database skills, experience with complex integrations, and the ability to test, evaluate, observe, debug, and secure AI systems; fluency in English is required.
