About us Fiprex Logistics is a young and fast-growing logistics company specialising in raw materials for the food industry. We provide comprehensive logistics solutions for products such as frozen fruit, fruit juices, concentrates and purees. Our services include sea freight, customs clearance, warehousing, value-added services such as repacking and blending, and European road transport for dry, chilled and frozen goods. We handle both groupage and full-load shipments. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced and driven Freight Forwarder with hands-on experience in the operational handling of import containers. Job description As a Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for coordinating and organising international shipments by sea and road. An important part of this position is the complete operational handling of import containers arriving at European ports. We are therefore specifically looking for someone who already has practical experience with import sea freight and understands the process from arrival at the port through customs clearance, container transport and final delivery. Your responsibilities include: Handling import container shipments from arrival at the port through to final delivery; Coordinating releases, customs clearance, container transport, terminals, warehouses and delivery appointments; Working with Portbase, shipping lines, terminals, customs agents and other parties involved in the import process; Coordinating and organising European road transport, including dry, chilled and frozen shipments; Preparing and checking the required transport and customs documentation; Maintaining daily contact with customers, shipping lines, carriers, warehouses and other logistics partners; Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving delays, demurrage/detention risks and other operational issues; Requesting and negotiating rates with carriers and logistics partners; Ensuring a high level of service and finding efficient transport solutions; Administrative processing and follow-up of transport orders; Contributing ideas to improve and further develop our logistics processes. What we’re looking for At least 5 years of experience as a freight forwarder; Demonstrable hands-on experience with the operational handling of import sea containers is required; You understand the complete import process and are comfortable dealing with shipping lines, terminals, Portbase, customs agents, transport companies and warehouses; Experience in the food industry is a strong advantage; Good knowledge of customs procedures and international transport; Excellent command of Dutch and English; German and/or Spanish is an advantage; Strong communication and negotiation skills; Independent, proactive and solution-oriented; Able to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously; Good knowledge of Microsoft Office; Experience with Portbase, MyTerminal and other relevant logistics software.
