For our Turbomachinery Service team in Schiedam, we are looking for a passionate, technically skilled and hands-on Mechanical Supervisor who is ready to take responsibility for the successful execution of complex field service projects and lead teams at customer sites throughout the region and beyond. As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a key role in our service organization, leading field service activities involving installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and overhaul of advanced turbomachinery equipment. Combining technical expertise with site leadership and customer interaction, you will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards while supporting the development of engineers and technicians in the field. The position is based at our Schiedam office in the Netherlands, with regular travel to customer sites across the Benelux region, Europe and occasionally worldwide. This provides the opportunity to lead challenging turbomachinery projects, work directly with customers and contractors, and further develop both your technical and leadership capabilities within an international environment. Your Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the successful supervision and execution of field service activities involving the installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of advanced turbomachinery equipment. As the site lead, you will combine technical expertise with leadership, planning and customer coordination to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. Your Responsibility Includes Lead, supervise and execute field service activities on turbomachinery and associated auxiliary systems on customer sites. Act as site supervisor during installations, outages, commissioning activities and major overhauls. Plan, organize and direct assigned personnel, subcontractors and third-party labour. Lead site meetings and coordinate work execution with customer representatives and project stakeholders. Oversee disassembly, inspection, repair and reassembly of turbomachinery equipment. Evaluate inspection findings and recommend repair actions and corrective measures. Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis and technical problem-solving activities. Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, technicians and customer personnel. Review and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs and project documentation. Ensure all activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with technical specifications. Coordinate tooling, consumables, lifting equipment and spare parts requirements. Complete technical field service reports, quality records and project-specific documentation. Support and coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities. Work safely and comply with all HSEQ requirements and company procedures. Maintain strong customer relationships and act as the primary site representative. Travel regularly within the Benelux region, Europe and occasionally globally. Equipment You Will Work On Working on a wide range of turbomachinery equipment, based on experience and qualification levels, including: Axial Flow Compressors Multi-stage Centrifugal Compressors Barrel Compressors Integral Gear Compressors Screw Compressors Steam Turbines Hot Gas Expanders Auxiliary Systems: Dry Gas Seals and Systems Wet Seal Systems Lube Oil Systems Seal Gas / Steam Systems What You'll Bring You are an experienced turbomachinery specialist who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to lead teams and build confidence among customers and colleagues. You thrive in demanding field environments, enjoy taking ownership of complex projects and have the judgement to make sound decisions under pressure. With a natural leadership style and strong communication skills, you can effectively coordinate people, manage site activities and drive successful project execution from start to finish. To Be Successful In This Role, You Have Professional background in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field. Minimum 5 years' experience in turbomachinery field service activities. Proven experience leading mechanical overhauls and site teams. Strong understanding of compressors, turbines, expanders and auxiliary systems. Experience with rotor alignment, bearing inspections and precision measurements. Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation. Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and coordination skills in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. The ability to effectively communicate with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders Good written and spoken English. Dutch is considered an advantage. Driving license and passport.
