Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Randstad, Netherlands, with flexibility for partial work from home. The CTO will define and drive the overall IT strategy, ensuring that technology supports our client's mission of enabling people and organizations to grow. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing software and product development initiatives, managing technology projects from concept to implementation, and ensuring robust, scalable architectures for all digital solutions. The role also involves leading and mentoring multidisciplinary technology teams, collaborating with business and executive stakeholders, and translating organizational needs into secure, reliable, and user-centered technology roadmaps. The CTO will continuously evaluate emerging technologies, optimize processes, and establish governance and standards to support sustainable innovation and operational excellence. Qualifications Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience delivering secure, user-focused digital solutions. Proven experience in IT Strategy and Architecture, including defining technology roadmaps and designing scalable, maintainable systems. Demonstrated Project Management skills, with a track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning to successful delivery. Ability to align technology decisions with business goals, especially in people-focused services such as coaching, training, and consulting. Experience building and leading inclusive, high-performing technology teams and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical topics into clear, actionable insights. Experience in professional services, HR, coaching, or related sectors is an advantage; familiarity with the Dutch market is beneficial. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Fluency in English; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.

Core Responsibilities

Define and drive the overall IT strategy, oversee software and product development, and lead technology projects from concept through implementation. Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, align technology roadmaps with business needs, and establish secure, scalable architectures, governance, and standards.

Requirements

Candidates should have substantial experience in software and product development, IT strategy and architecture, and leading complex cross-functional projects. They should be able to lead inclusive technology teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and align secure, user-focused solutions with business goals; a relevant degree or equivalent experience and fluency in English are required.
