This is a remote role, with a preference to hire from Europe THE ROLE We're hiring a Intern in Multimedia Forensic Specialist to be supporting our forensic team. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Build and test with real-world data Collect authentic and manipulated media from online platforms, AI generators, mobile phones and editing software, covering the formats and pipelines our customers actually encounter. Help design and document a forensically sound collection process: provenance, hashing, chain of custody and reproducible capture conditions. Run our detectors and analysis features against this material, assess the results as an examiner would, and report gaps and failure cases to the research team. Track new AI generators and editing tools as they appear, and record the provenance signals they carry (C2PA, SynthID and other watermarks). Support the forensic team Prepare case examples, datasets and supporting material for conferences, workshops and customer training sessions. YOU A degree in progress or recently completed in multimedia or audio forensics, forensic science, or a related field. A solid grasp of the fundamentals: metadata, compression and re-encoding artefacts, sensor pattern noise, audio spectral analysis. Some hands-on experience with forensic or media tools such as ExifTool, ffmpeg, iZotope RX or Amped Five/Authenticate, from coursework, projects or casework. A methodical approach to documentation. Clear written English. BONUS POINTS Familiarity with C2PA or other content provenance standards. Basic scripting (Python or Bash) to automate collection and analysis. Core Responsibilities
Collect authentic and manipulated media from real-world sources, document forensically sound collection procedures, and test the company’s detection and analysis tools. Assess results, report gaps and failure cases, track new generators and provenance signals, and prepare materials for training and events.
Requirements
Applicants should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in multimedia or audio forensics, forensic science, or a related field, and understand metadata, compression artifacts, sensor pattern noise, and audio spectral analysis. Hands-on experience with forensic or media tools and methodical documentation are expected; familiarity with provenance standards and basic Python or Bash scripting are bonuses.
