Intern assignment

The Assignment is in the GTL/XTL department of Shell Global Solutions at ETCA Amsterdam. During the assignment a combination of analytical and catalytic measurements will be used to study Fischer-Tropsch catalysts. The project is a continuation of existing internship projects and will be further shaped towards start of project.

 

Goals and objectives

One of the main goals of this project is to study activation and deactivation of Fischer-Tropsch catalysts with combination of techniques like: Spectroscopy, Catalytic Measurements, Catalyst synthesis and Mass Spectrometry.

 

Project Outline

-          Literature survey of earlier approaches

-          Repeat of experiments earlier done at Shell

-          Devise research program and test series.

- The project will be conducted for 30 ECTS, including document writing and presentation.

Core Responsibilities

The intern will conduct research on Fischer-Tropsch catalysts using analytical and catalytic measurement techniques. Responsibilities include performing literature surveys, executing experiments, and documenting findings for a 30 ECTS project.

Requirements

The candidate should be prepared to conduct a research program involving catalyst synthesis and various spectroscopic techniques. The role requires the ability to perform experiments, analyze data, and present results in a formal report.
