Description of assignment

Are you excited to explore how Artificial Intelligence can transform HR operations in a global enterprise? The Global HR Service Desk is the primary contact point for HR questions from employees and managers across Vanderlande. Currently, a significant portion of daily operations consists of recurring inquiries, manual data searches, ticket classification, and repetitive administrative tasks. This limits the time available for complex case management, service enhancement, and personalized employee support.

In this internship, you will investigate how AI can streamline and optimize first-line HR support while ensuring privacy, security, and a seamless employee experience. You will analyse service workload and ticket data, identify high-value AI use cases, and evaluate solutions such as automated knowledge retrieval, ticket routing, response assistance, or task automation. By creating practical recommendations and testing a proof of concept, you will directly influence how our global HR service desk operates in the future.

Department description

You will join the Global HR Service Desk team, operating in a dynamic, international service environment. Our team provides accessible, consistent support, resolves standard queries, and routes specialized cases to expert HR teams. We collaborate closely with HR Operations, HR Technology, Centers of Expertise, HR Business Partners, and local HR teams worldwide.

As an intern, you will work alongside international service desk colleagues and key stakeholders. Your day-to-day work will combine data analysis, stakeholder interviews, process mapping, and experimentation, allowing you to turn innovative technology concepts into scalable operational improvements.

  • Analyse ticket and process data to identify actionable optimization opportunities.

  • Present research findings, an implementation roadmap, and recommendations to the HR Service Desk Management Team.

  • Enthusiastic about AI, digital transformation, process optimization, and smart service delivery
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations
