Job Description

As a Health and Safety Advisor you will play a crucial role in driving safety within the company and ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees, those who could be affected by our activities and the work environment at our project locations.
Working closely with the company's Head of Health and Safety, you will ensure that our projects align with the broader goals and objectives of the H&S department all the while meeting both client and country-specific requirements.
As part of your role, you will be based across multiple project locations within the company and collaborate with other departments to ensure consistent implementation of the company's health and safety standards.
ExperienceMinimum 3 years’ experience of health and safety on a construction site.
Computer literate.
Experience in performing and executing organisation’s safety programs and policies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong experience in risk assessment and risk management.
Qualifications
Mandatory - NEBOSH certificate on Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent
Beneficial – Auditing to an ISO standard
Beneficial – Incident investigation training
Developing safety policies and procedures: Creating safety procedures and policies that ensure compliance with legislation
Training staff: Develop and deliver training and TBTs to personnel
Conducting risk assessments: Identifying potential hazards and determining ways to reduce risks
Investigating accidents: Determining the causes of accidents and how to prevent them in the future
Making recommendations: Advising managers and leaders on health and safety matters
Ensuring compliance: Ensuring that employers and workers follow safety legislation
Inspecting sites: Carrying out regular inspections to ensure that processes and permits are complied with, taking the opportunity to reengage with operatives.
Preparing reports: Writing internal health and safety reports
Build a strong, resilient relationship with your Project Managers and Site Teams, to encourage and guide them to improve site-based safety.
Have the courage of your conviction to challenge where necessary and be prepared to make decisions
KPI’s
Incident rate: Aim to minimise safety incidents through effective safety measures and protocols
Safety projects: Own relevant safety projects from concept to delivery
Client satisfaction: Obtain feedback from your client (the Project Managers) regarding improvements in our safety practices and procedures implemented on their projects by the Health and Safety Advisers.
Inspection and audit findings: Lead safety inspections, audits and compliance checks.

Core Responsibilities
The Health & Safety Advisor will drive safety standards across multiple project locations by conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations. They will collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure compliance with legislation and company policies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of health and safety experience on construction sites and hold a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent. Strong communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to challenge and guide site teams are essential for this role.
