We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex IT software initiatives and digital transformation projects for our major clients in the financial services sector. In this role, you will be end-to-end responsible for project governance, planning, prioritization, and execution across a high-impact IT project portfolio. You will also actively contribute to driving agile best practices and enhancing project management processes for our clients Qualifications / Technical Skills Experience: 6–10 years of project management experience in finance/banking, with at least 4 years driving Agile IT/software projects using JIRA and Confluence. Agile Expertise: Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). Scrum Master or Agile certification is a strong plus. Technical & Vendor Skills: Proven track record in managing 3rd-party IT vendors and complex multi-stream software projects. Data-Driven & Analytical: Strong ability to leverage quantitative and qualitative data to guide decision-making and present actionable insights to stakeholders. Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills; ability to mentor and coach cross-functional teams. Languages: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Work Authorization: Must be currently based in the Netherlands with valid work authorization (No company sponsorship provided). Main Responsibilities End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead complex IT software and transformation projects in the banking/finance domain from inception to delivery, ensuring projects are on time, within scope, and on budget. Governance & PMO Standards: Institutionalize project governance, policies, and frameworks; contribute to establishing and maturing PMO standards on client engagements. Planning & Portfolio Management: Support business case creation, gather key business requirements, align project roadmaps with strategic business priorities, and manage resource allocation. Agile Execution (Scrum/Kanban): Oversee full agile project lifecycles, facilitate core agile ceremonies, and ensure sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release management run efficiently. JIRA & Confluence Administration: Utilize JIRA for workflow management, sprint tracking, and dashboard reporting; leverage Confluence for documentation, knowledge sharing, and transparency. Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Build strong alignment with cross-functional business units, product owners, key client stakeholders, and manage external 3rd-party IT vendors. Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate cross-departmental dependencies, project risks, and issues to maintain alignment with key milestones. Core Responsibilities

Lead complex banking and finance IT software and digital transformation projects from planning through delivery, managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies. Establish project governance and PMO practices, oversee Agile delivery and JIRA/Confluence use, and coordinate stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.

Requirements

Requires 6–10 years of project management experience in banking or finance, including at least four years leading Agile IT or software projects using JIRA and Confluence. Candidates should have strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, experience managing vendors and complex projects, strong analytical and stakeholder skills, excellent English, and current residence and valid work authorization in the Netherlands; sponsorship is not provided.
