Job Description Role: Electrical Designer / Engineer Work location: Kinderdijk, the Netherlands – hybrid Start: ASAP Duration: Six months to one year, with longer continuation possible through an employment contract Contract: Employment contract or freelance assignment Language: English Focus: Electrical systems, power distribution and automation for naval and marine defence assets Due to the military nature of the project, we will only consider EU citizens. If your background is in electrical engineering, this Electrical Designer / Engineer position brings together system design, integration, and commissioning support for naval projects. You will use EPLAN and AutoCAD to develop electrical deliverables, alongside Teamcenter and SAP, within an English-speaking working environment. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to the Netherlands, and both employment candidates and freelancers are welcome. Where You’ll Work You will join an engineering team working on electrical and automation systems for naval vessels and marine defence assets. The scope covers power generation and distribution, propulsion control, navigation, communication, and handling equipment. Your work connects electrical design with onboard installation and commissioning, with attention to naval standards and classification requirements. What You’ll Do Integrate navigation, communication, propulsion control, energy management and handling equipment into the overall naval platform. Design power generation and distribution systems, including generators, main switchboards, low- and medium-voltage drives and transformers. Develop electrical designs for alarm monitoring and vessel management systems. Prepare single-line diagrams, electrical load balances and electrical schematics using EPLAN and AutoCAD. Develop cable tray routing drawings. Prepare technical documentation for electrical systems and their integration. Prepare factory acceptance testing (FAT) documentation. Support installation and commissioning of electrical and automation systems. What You Bring A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related marine electrical discipline. Proficiency in EPLAN and AutoCAD. Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter and SAP. Experience in, or an affinity with, the maritime, offshore or defence sector. An understanding of naval standards and classification requirements for electrical systems. Good written and spoken English. EU citizenship. What’s In It For You? Candidates should have maritime, offshore, or defence sector experience or affinity, understand naval standards and classification requirements, communicate well in English, and hold EU citizenship.
