Job Description

Location: Eindhoven, The Netherlands Department: Supply Chain & Procurement Reports to: Procurement Lead About Anteryon Anteryon is a leading high-tech company specializing in precision optics, photonics, and advanced optical system solutions. To support our continued growth and innovation, we are looking for an experienced Technical Buyer specializing in R&D and Electronics Procurement. The Role As Technical Buyer, you will act as the commercial and supply chain partner to Engineering, R&D, Operations, and Quality teams. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing critical electronic, electro-mechanical, optical, and custom-engineered components required for new product development, prototyping, industrialization, and production. You will work at the intersection of technology and supply chain, ensuring that innovative designs can be manufactured successfully, on time, and at competitive cost while minimizing supply chain risk. Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for electronics, PCBAs, semiconductors, photonics, optics, and precision mechanical components. Lead supplier selection activities for new product development projects. Negotiate pricing, lead times, capacity agreements, and commercial terms. Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Develop sourcing strategies that support business growth, innovation, and risk mitigation. R&D & New Product Introduction (NPI) Partner closely with R&D teams during product development. Support Design for Supply Chain and Design for Manufacturability initiatives. Source prototype and pre-production materials within aggressive development timelines. Evaluate technical and commercial feasibility of new suppliers and technologies. Drive supplier involvement during product industrialization and production transfer activities. Electronics Procurement Manage procurement activities for electronic components, PCB assemblies, sensors, laser diodes, optical engines, flex circuits, cables, connectors, and related technologies. Monitor component availability, market trends, lead-time risks, and obsolescence. Implement mitigation plans for supply constraints and lifecycle management challenges. Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations and alternative sourcing strategies. Supply Chain Risk Management Assess and mitigate supplier, geopolitical, capacity, and single-source risks. Develop dual-sourcing and business continuity strategies. Monitor critical component availability and support shortage management activities. Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve supplier-related issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Finance. Support make-versus-buy evaluations and outsourcing decisions. Contribute to supply chain strategy for contract manufacturing and global sourcing initiatives. Support ERP master data integrity and procurement process improvements. Required qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline. Experience 5+ years of procurement or technical sourcing experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Proven experience sourcing electronic components and custom-engineered products. Experience supporting R&D projects and New Product Introduction programs. Knowledge of electronics supply chains, semiconductor markets, and contract manufacturing environments. Experience working with international suppliers across Europe and Asia. Technical Knowledge Understanding of electronic components, PCB assemblies, semiconductors, sensors, optics, and precision mechanics. Familiarity with engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOM structures, and product lifecycle management. Knowledge of supplier quality processes and industrialization activities. Experience with ERP and MRP systems. Competencies Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Commercially driven with a strong technical understanding. Analytical and data-driven decision maker. Excellent stakeholder management skills. Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset. Able to thrive in a dynamic R&D and innovation environment. Core Responsibilities

Source and manage electronic, optical, electro-mechanical, and custom-engineered components, including supplier selection, negotiations, performance improvement, and supply risk mitigation. Partner with R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other teams to support product development, prototyping, industrialization, production continuity, and cost improvements.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field, plus at least five years of technical procurement or sourcing experience in high-tech manufacturing. Candidates should have experience sourcing electronics and engineered products, supporting R&D and NPI, working with international suppliers, and using ERP/MRP systems; strong English communication is required, while Dutch is an advantage.
