About The Job Are you an experienced HR professional who connects easily with people, builds trust and combines sound judgement with a practical, organised approach? As HR Manager, you will support employees, advise management and help create an environment in which people can perform and develop. As HR Manager, you will have your own approachable space where colleagues can meet, exchange ideas and seek support. Role Overview As HR Manager, you lead and develop all shore-based HR activities. You advise Senior Management, managers and employees, translating organisational goals into practical, people-focused HR solutions that ensure consistency and compliance. You combine strategic responsibility with hands-on HR support, turning policies and organisational change into workable solutions. You use modern HR systems to simplify, digitalise and improve processes, taking ownership of practical, user-friendly solutions. Key Responsibilities In your role, you will fulfil a central and highly visible position within our organisation. While no two days are the same, the responsibilities below provide a snapshot of the key areas in which you will make an impact: Act as a trusted HR Business Partner for managers and employees on people, team and organisational topics. Guide employees through every stage of their journey, from attracting and onboarding talent to development, engagement and offboarding. Keep our HR operation running smoothly, ensuring accurate administration, payroll coordination and effective absence management. Continuously improve policies, processes and ways of working, balancing compliance with a great employee experience. Create a solid base for a professional HR organisation (hard skills and soft skills). Lead HR digitalisation initiatives and explore how technology can make HR more effective, efficient and user-friendly. Turn HR data and insights into meaningful actions that support business decisions and organisational growth. Help strengthen our focus on sustainability, wellbeing and long-term employability, ensuring our people and organisation are ready for the future. Position in the organization In this position, you: Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer; Work closely with Senior Management; Collaborate with external HR service providers, payroll partners and specialised advisors. Build strong relationships across the business and help strengthen the connection between employees, management and the organisation. What We're Looking For As our HR Manager, you’re excited to shape and guide HR in line with our organisational strategy. You have a clear HR vision and you love to share your ideas, insights and knowledge. What You Bring A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent level gained through relevant experience. At least 5 years of experience in a broad HR Management role. Experience advising managers and supporting organisational growth, development and change. Strong knowledge of Dutch employment law and contemporary HR practices. Experience across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance, development and offboarding. A passion for digitalisation, technology and continuous improvement. The ability to translate data, insights and business needs into practical HR solutions. Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English. Experience within the maritime, offshore or marine industry is an advantage. Familiar with best practices within HR. About You You have excellent written and verbal communications skills. You have the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire your team members. You have strategic organizational skills that include attention to detail and multi-tasking. You have a solid understanding of software development and web technologies. You're highly skilled at program management, scheduling, budgeting, and task estimation. You're decisive and you create clarity for those around you. Improve HR policies and processes, lead digitalisation initiatives, use data to inform business decisions, and support sustainability, wellbeing, and long-term employability.
Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience, and at least five years in a broad HR management role. Candidates should have Dutch employment law knowledge, experience advising managers and supporting organisational change, strong communication skills in Dutch and English, and a practical, strategic approach; maritime or offshore experience is an advantage.
