About The Job As an Operational Buyer, you will be the go-to person for purchasing, helping to improve and streamline our procurement processes. You will work closely with your colleagues in the Purchasing team, as well as key internal stakeholders such as Technical, QHSE, Chartering, Operations, Crewing, and our vessels. You will stay in close contact with the fleet, support day-to-day issue resolution, and help solve operational purchasing challenges quickly and effectively to keep our offshore operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities Support the procurement and sourcing of operational goods, consumables and vessel-related supplies to ensure timely and high-quality support for offshore operations. Coordinate purchasing activities with technical and operational departments to support fleet maintenance and project requirements. Manage purchase orders, follow up on deliveries and maintain regular communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Maintain accurate purchasing administration and reporting within company systems. Work closely with Category Managers to support the operational execution of category strategies, supplier agreements and procurement improvement initiatives. Support the operational management of supplier contracts by monitoring contract compliance, expiry dates, agreed pricing and service commitments. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality, safety and delivery reliability. Contribute to the continuous improvement of purchasing workflows, processes and best practices together with Procurement colleagues. Participate in team meetings and actively share ideas to support departmental growth and professionalisation. Build knowledge of the offshore and maritime supply market and develop professional relationships with suppliers. Position in the Organization Reports to the COO/Procurement Lead; Team member within the Procurement department; Works closely with Technical Department, Chartering, Operations, QHSE and Crewing; Interfaces directly with vessel crews, internal departments, regulatory bodies. What We’re Looking For MBO+ or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrated through relevant work experience. Some experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, supply chain or planning is preferred, but not essential. Strong interest in procurement and eager to develop a career within the offshore and maritime industry. Proactive, pragmatic, hands-on and eager to learn. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Problem-solving mindset with a structured approach to work. Ability to collaborate effectively with operational, technical and project teams. Experience with ERP systems is an advantage. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Dutch language skills are an advantage. A genuine team player who thrives in a hands-on and collaborative environment. Comfortable working in a family-owned company with short communication lines and a strong sense of shared responsibility. Core Responsibilities
Coordinate purchasing and sourcing of operational goods, consumables, and vessel supplies, including purchase orders, delivery follow-up, supplier communication, and purchasing records. Support category strategies and supplier contracts, identify cost-saving opportunities, and improve procurement processes in collaboration with internal teams and the fleet.
Requirements
A relevant MBO+ qualification or bachelor's degree, or equivalent relevant work experience, is sought; some procurement, purchasing, logistics, supply chain, or planning experience is preferred but not essential. Candidates should be proactive, organized, collaborative, eager to learn, fluent in written and spoken English, and interested in offshore and maritime procurement; ERP experience and Dutch language skills are advantages.
