Role Overview The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting Dragonfly Netherlands’ financial planning, performance management, pricing, and commercial decision-making. The position combines two core areas: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Pricing / Commercial Finance. The analyst will translate operational and financial data into actionable insights, support budgeting and forecasting, develop pricing models, and partner with Finance, Operations, and Sales to improve profitability and support sustainable growth. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is analytical, commercially minded, comfortable working with large datasets, and interested in understanding the operational drivers behind financial performance. Key Responsibilities FP&A & Financial Performance Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Prepare monthly financial performance analysis, including actuals vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods. Analyze key revenue, cost, margin, and profitability drivers. Develop and maintain financial models and management reporting. Translate operational KPIs and volume trends into financial impacts. Support monthly business reviews with clear analysis of performance, risks, and opportunities. Develop rolling forecasts and scenario analyses to support management decisions. Monitor business performance and proactively identify financial trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Partner with Operations to understand and challenge key cost drivers, including last-mile, linehaul, sorting, labor, and overhead costs. Support business cases and investment decisions for new initiatives, network changes, and operational projects. Pricing & Commercial Finance Develop and maintain pricing models for existing and prospective clients. Support Sales with pricing proposals, tenders, and commercial negotiations. Assess the profitability of new business opportunities based on volume, geography, service requirements, operational costs, and other relevant assumptions. Model different pricing and volume scenarios to support commercial decision-making. Establish clear cost-to-serve models across products, clients, and services. Review existing client profitability and identify opportunities for pricing adjustments or margin improvement. Support contract renewals and commercial reviews with financial analysis. Evaluate the financial impact of new services, products, geographies, and client requirements. Ensure pricing decisions are aligned with profitability and broader business objectives. Maintain pricing documentation, assumptions, and approval processes. Business Partnering & Analytics Act as a financial business partner to Sales and Operations. Convert complex financial and operational information into clear recommendations for management. Develop dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into revenue, cost per package, productivity, margin, and client profitability. Improve the quality and automation of financial and commercial reporting. Support ad hoc financial analysis requested by management. Work cross-functionally to improve data quality and ensure consistent financial assumptions across the organization. Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Approximately 2–5 years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, pricing, financial analysis, or a similar role. Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities. Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar analytical tools is a strong advantage. Comfortable working with large datasets and translating data into business insights. Strong understanding of P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis. Commercial mindset with an interest in pricing and business economics. Able to understand operational processes and connect operational performance to financial outcomes. Detail-oriented while able to maintain a broader business perspective. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with Finance, Operations, Sales, and senior management. Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage. What Success Looks Like The Financial Analyst gives management a clear understanding of where the business is performing, why performance is changing, and what actions can improve results. On the commercial side, the analyst ensures Dragonfly understands the economics of every major opportunity and makes pricing decisions based on reliable cost-to-serve and profitability analysis. Ultimately, the role helps Dragonfly forecast more accurately, make better commercial decisions, protect margins, and scale profitably.
Core Responsibilities
Support budgeting, forecasting, financial performance analysis, and management reporting, translating operational data and KPIs into insights and recommendations. Develop pricing and cost-to-serve models, assess client and opportunity profitability, and partner with Sales and Operations to support commercial decisions and profitable growth.
Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, with approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience, is sought. Candidates should have strong financial modeling and analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, knowledge of P&L and forecasting, and the ability to communicate insights and work cross-functionally; Power BI and Dutch are advantages.
