Internship Assignment – AI in Tender Processes The Background Within our Sales Operations department, we observe a clear increase in the number of tender procedures. These processes are becoming increasingly complex and require a lot of manual work: sifting through documents, posing questions to various departments (sales, demand planning, engineering, procurement), collecting responses, and aligning commercially. This process is time consuming, prone to errors, and heavily reliant on the availability and knowledge of colleagues. We aim to organize this more intelligently and future-proof by developing an AI-supported solution that accelerates, simplifies, and reduces dependence on manual input in tender processes. The Assignment During your internship, you will develop an AI knowledge database that centrally stores previously asked questions and answers. This will make tender processes faster, more efficient, and more consistent. Among Other Tasks, You Will Work On Mapping the current tender process and identifying key bottlenecks. Analyzing tender documents and information needs. Investigating AI techniques such as natural language processing, semantic search, and machine learning. Designing and building an initial version of the AI knowledge database. Testing with real tender cases and evaluating results. Delivering recommendations for implementation and scaling. Your final deliverable will be a functioning prototype or proof-of-concept that directly contributes to improving our tender process. What will you learn with us? Core Responsibilities

Map the current tender process, identify bottlenecks, analyze tender documents and information needs, and investigate relevant AI techniques. Design and build a prototype AI knowledge database, test it with real tender cases, evaluate results, and recommend implementation and scaling.

Requirements

Applicants must be vocational or university students studying Data Science, IT, Business Administration, Commercial Economics, or a related field, with an interest in AI and data analysis in a business context. They should be proactive, able to work independently and gather information across disciplines, and have strong analytical skills.
