Role Description The Workshop Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Rijen, the Netherlands. This role is open to locally registered people, no sponsership or relocation package is offered. Our technicians all play a key part for supporting with production and assembly of Alcatraz safety products and solutions. Day-to-day tasks include assembling mechanical and electromechanical interlocks, cabinets, and assisting with the build and testing of related and valve control systems according to technical drawings and specifications. The Technician will perform quality checks, functional testing, and basic troubleshooting to ensure all products meet safety and performance standards before shipment. This role also involves maintaining tools and workshop equipment, organizing materials and components, and collaborating closely with engineering, logistics, and project teams to meet project deadlines. The Workshop Technician is expected to follow all safety procedures, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support the implementation of new product designs. Qualifications Technical skills in mechanical assembly, basic electromechanics, and reading technical drawings and schematics. Experience with workshop tools, measuring instruments, and safe handling of mechanical and electrical components. Ability to perform quality control, functional testing, and basic fault-finding on assembled products. Strong organizational skills for managing parts, materials, and documentation in a workshop environment. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics colleagues. Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to procedures, and a focus on precision and reliability. Relevant vocational or technical education or equivalent via practical experience. Experience in process safety, industrial equipment, or the energy and process industry is an advantage. Willingness to learn new technologies, and be a team player. Core Responsibilities

Assemble mechanical and electromechanical interlocks, cabinets, and valve control systems, and perform quality checks, functional testing, and basic troubleshooting before shipment. Maintain workshop tools and equipment, organize materials, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with engineering, logistics, and project teams to meet deadlines and support new product designs.

Requirements

Candidates need mechanical assembly and basic electromechanical skills, the ability to read technical drawings and schematics, and experience using workshop tools and measuring instruments. Relevant vocational or technical education or equivalent practical experience is expected, along with attention to safety, precision, organization, and teamwork; experience in process safety or industrial equipment is an advantage.
