Job Description

Join our Life Actuarial team and play a key role in shaping VIG Re's reserving and financial management framework. In this senior position, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of life reinsurance reserving models, regulatory valuations under IFRS 17 and Solvency II, profitability analyses, financial planning, and capital management. You will act as a subject matter expert for actuarial methodologies and tools, lead process improvement initiatives, mentor junior colleagues, and collaborate closely with teams across the organization to support sound business and strategic decision-making. What You Can Expect Advanced Modelling & Methodology Developing and enhancing complex life reinsurance models, ensuring their correct implementation and providing expert interpretation of results and key business insights. Regulatory Valuations Calculating technical provisions under IFRS 17 and Solvency II frameworks, contributing to solvency capital requirement calculations, and supporting the ORSA process while maintaining related methodologies, documentation, and controls. Profitability & Financial Planning Designing portfolio analyses, investigating key profitability drivers, and performing actuarial calculations supporting the financial planning process. Model and Related Processes Maintenance & Enhancements Developing life actuarial reserving models in Prophet, supporting stakeholders in understanding model assumptions and functionalities, and ensuring efficient data input and output processes. Asset Liability Management Preparing comprehensive liability inputs for ALM and understanding their impact on capital and financial results. Process Optimization & Project Ownership Monitoring, initiating, and leading continuous improvement projects that increase the efficiency, quality, and automation of actuarial tools and models. Complex Treaty Assessment Conducting actuarial assessments of complex active and passive reinsurance treaties and providing expert opinions on non-standard cases in cooperation with internal stakeholders. Model & Regulation Mastery Driving the development and maintenance of solvency capital requirement and ORSA-related inputs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and VIG Group standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration Close collaboration with Underwriting, Risk Management, Controlling, and IT, ensuring alignment across functions What We Except Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field At least 3 years of experience in life actuarial techniques with life reserving calculations, experience with reinsurance is an advantage Strong working knowledge of regulatory frameworks - IFRS 17, Solvency II, and potential local GAAPs or local regulatory standards Familiarity with standard reserving tools, experience with development of their code (such as Prophet, RAFM) Solid programming and data skills (Python, SQL, Power BI or comparable tools), Power Query is an advantage Proficiency in the Office365 suite for daily reporting and collaboration Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently on complex topics while contributing to team collaboration Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with both actuarial and non actuarial stakeholders Proactive and structured approach, with interest in process improvement and automation What We Offer A role with exposure to complex international reinsurance portfolios Opportunity to work on advanced actuarial models and regulatory frameworks A collaborative, cross functional environment with strong interaction across business areas Continuous learning and development opportunities, including exposure to modern actuarial tools and data platforms A dynamic and international workplace within a growing reinsurance company A supportive environment encouraging innovation, automation, and professional growth

Core Responsibilities

Develop and maintain life reinsurance reserving models, perform IFRS 17 and Solvency II valuations, and support profitability analysis, financial planning, capital management, and ORSA. Lead actuarial process improvements, assess complex reinsurance treaties, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

Requirements

A degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field and at least three years of life actuarial experience, including life reserving calculations, are required; reinsurance experience is an advantage. Candidates should have knowledge of IFRS 17 and Solvency II, familiarity with reserving tools such as Prophet or RAFM, programming and data skills, strong analytical and communication abilities, and a structured, collaborative approach.
