Job Description

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the operational and technical management of the Dutch portfolio within CGN Europe Energy’s scope. The role covers day-to-day asset monitoring, maintenance coordination, performance optimisation, and operational and commercial matters.

The position will initially work closely with the existing operational service provider to gain a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio, ongoing activities, contracts, and operational processes before progressively taking full responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the wind farms.

This is an onsite role based at the CGN Europe Energy office in Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities

Technical management of wind farms

  • Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the wind farms.

  • Monitor production, alarms, availability and technical issues, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.

  • Plan and follow up maintenance and intervention activities with contractors and service providers.

  • Identify opportunities to improve production, availability and overall asset performance.

  • Lead regular operational meetings with contractors and technical service providers.

  • Represent the company and its wind farms towards local stakeholders, authorities, landowners and other third parties.

Inspections and reporting

  • Monitor and report on the technical and operational performance of the portfolio.

  • Analyse actual and expected production and identify deviations or performance issues.

  • Ensure regular site inspections and appropriate follow-up of site conditions and ongoing activities.

  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and reporting.

HSE and compliance

  • Implement and promote the company’s HSE requirements across the portfolio.

  • Monitor compliance with applicable HSE rules, procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure that contractors and service providers comply with the required safety standards.

Commercial and contract management

  • Manage existing and upcoming O&M and service contracts.

  • Monitor contractual performance and follow up contractual obligations.

  • Manage leases, insurance matters and other asset-related agreements.

  • Monitor operational costs, review invoices and support budget control.

  • Contribute to procurement and contract renewal processes where required.

Profile

  • Experience in renewable energy operations, preferably within the wind energy sector.

  • Autonomous, organised and solution-oriented, with strong coordination and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working with contractors, service providers and multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently while reporting effectively within an international organisation.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or professional background in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Operations, Maintenance, Energy Operations or another related operational or technical field.

  • At least two years of experience in renewable energy operations, operational coordination, maintenance follow-up or contractor coordination relating to wind and/or solar production assets.

  • Valid driving licence.

  • Good coordination skills for maintenance activities and contractors.

  • Ability to manage operational issues and follow up corrective actions.

  • Basic understanding of HSE requirements and regulatory compliance.

  • Good organisational, reporting and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage contracts, costs and invoices.

Languages

  • Professional proficiency in English is required.

  • French and/or Dutch is a strong advantage.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or professional background in a relevant technical or operational field. At least two years of experience in renewable energy operations, specifically in wind or solar asset management, is required.
