Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Golang/TypeScript/React) - Independent Contractor based in Netherlands.
This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building and evolving a data-intensive platform used by major global organizations and financial institutions.
You will work across backend microservices and modern frontend applications, combining Golang, TypeScript, and React to deliver reliable and performant products.
The role offers meaningful ownership, with engineers expected to take features from initial ideas through production and ongoing improvement.
You will contribute to technical strategy, architectural decisions, engineering standards, and the modernization of existing systems.
The engineering environment emphasizes observability, automation, performance, clean code, and continuous improvement.
You will collaborate within a distributed technical organization while engaging with Product and stakeholders across the wider business.
The position is fully remote and requires working US Eastern Time hours to maintain strong collaboration with the broader team.
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance Golang microservices and frontend applications, ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product needs.
- Build polished, performant, component-based user interfaces in React and TypeScript, following established design system principles and delivering a strong customer experience.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features, from ideation and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement in production.
- Contribute to technical strategy by evaluating architectural options, balancing existing systems with new technologies, and clearly communicating technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and observability of services and applications through effective engineering practices and appropriate monitoring solutions.
- Raise engineering quality standards through clean-code practices, thoughtful code reviews, automation, process improvements, and the adoption of technologies that improve team productivity.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, Product Managers, and stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, communicate complex technical topics, and deliver solutions that create meaningful business impact.
Requirements:
- Strong professional experience developing backend services and web applications with Golang, including deploying services in Docker containers.
- Strong experience building modern, componentized frontend applications using React and TypeScript, with a focus on performance, usability, and maintainability.
- Ability to write performant SQL and work effectively with data-intensive applications and relational databases.
- Strong understanding of clean-code principles and idiomatic TypeScript and Go, with the ability to apply these principles during development, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Ability to quickly understand a new business domain and product, learn independently, and apply that knowledge to technical and product decisions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improving technical skills, engineering practices, and ways of working.
- Experience with concurrent application logic, such as Go goroutines, is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab CI, is a plus.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, as well as experience with AI tools used to improve engineering productivity or productionized AI solutions, is advantageous.
- Additional experience with MaterialUI, Airflow, Python, or Terraform is welcome.
- Experience with technologies such as Golang, TypeScript, React, MaterialUI, MariaDB, ClickHouse, GitLab, AWS, and SQL is valuable.
Benefits:
- Compensation of USD 5,000–6,500 per month as an independent contractor.
- Fully remote working environment with location flexibility.
- US Eastern Time working hours, typically aligned with approximately 2:00 PM–10:00 PM CET or 1:00 PM–9:00 PM BST.
- Opportunity to work on a data-intensive platform serving major international organizations and financial institutions.
- Significant ownership over features, technical decisions, architecture, and engineering improvements.
- Exposure to large-scale financial data collection, processing, validation, analytics, and data-driven products.
- Collaboration within a technical organization of approximately 30 technologists, working in small, cross-functional teams alongside Product Managers and business stakeholders.
- Opportunity to contribute to engineering standards, automation, observability, performance, and adoption of modern technologies including AI-enabled tooling.
- Fully remote collaboration within an international, technology-focused environment.

About Jobgether
Industry: Internet Marketplace Platforms
Company size: 11-50 employees
Jobgether is a career navigation platform built for senior professionals competing in the remote job market. Hiring systems were designed for volume and keyword matching, not for 15 or 20 years of nonlinear experience. That structural mismatch is why strong profiles get filtered out before a human ever sees them. Our platform diagnoses where a search is breaking, corrects how experience is positioned, and connects professionals to the companies where their background creates real value. The goal is not more applications. It is the right visibility in the right places. Our mission is to ensure no senior professional remains invisible in the global remote market, not because they lack the skills, but because the system failed to read them correctly.
