The job As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building and operating the software platform that powers Milence's heavy-duty transport charging network. You will develop cloud-native, event-driven systems that connect charging infrastructure, customers, operations and business processes. Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, you will work closely with Product, Data and Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable and reliable software solutions that support Milence's continued growth across Europe. Reporting to the Head of Software Engineering, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through deployment and operations. In addition, you will help drive engineering excellence through automation, DevOps practices, continuous improvement and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. What you will do You will design, develop and enhance event-driven services, APIs and distributed applications using TypeScript, Node.js and modern cloud-native technologies, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and maintainable. You will contribute to customer-facing applications and internal platforms by developing React-based components and web applications that integrate seamlessly with back-end services and deliver a consistent user experience. You will design and optimise databases, data models and data flows, ensuring applications meet security, reliability and performance requirements throughout the software lifecycle. You will implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring and deployment solutions, leveraging cloud-native services, containerisation and serverless technologies to enable reliable and efficient software delivery. You will troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis and implement structural improvements that strengthen platform resilience, availability and operational performance. You will collaborate closely with Software Engineering, Data, Product and business stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions while continuously improving processes, tools and engineering practices. What you bring You hold a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field and have at least three years of experience designing and developing cloud-native software applications in a professional environment. You have strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js and are comfortable working with React or similar front-end frameworks. You have experience building and operating cloud solutions on Azure, AWS or GCP and are familiar with event-driven architectures, microservices, APIs and distributed systems. You understand database design, data modelling and security best practices and have experience optimising data performance and reliability. Experience with data platforms or data pipelines is considered an advantage. You are familiar with DevOps tooling and practices, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, monitoring and observability. You are an analytical problem solver who enjoys working in collaborative environments and continuously seeks opportunities to improve products, processes and ways of working. Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field and at least three years of professional experience developing cloud-native applications. Candidates should have hands-on TypeScript and Node.js experience, familiarity with React and a major cloud platform, and knowledge of distributed systems, databases, security, and DevOps practices.
