Head of Human Resources (Netherlands - Dutch Speaking) About the Opportunity We are partnering with a leading international organization to identify a senior HR leader who will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the local people strategy while acting as a trusted advisor to the business leadership team. This is a highly visible leadership position that combines strategic influence with operational execution. The successful candidate will join the local leadership team, lead an established HR function, and work closely with both local and international stakeholders to drive organizational performance, talent strategy, workforce planning, employee relations, and transformation initiatives. The role is ideally suited to an intellectually curious, commercially minded HR leader who enjoys navigating complexity, influencing senior stakeholders, and translating business strategy into impactful people initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Strategic HR Leadership Lead the development and execution of the local People Strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and global HR priorities. Serve as a member of the local Management Team, contributing to key business decisions and organizational direction. Translate business developments, organizational changes, and market trends into practical and effective HR solutions. Business Partnership Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational design, leadership effectiveness, talent management, workforce planning, and employee relations. Partner with local and international stakeholders across a complex matrix environment to ensure alignment and successful implementation of HR initiatives. HR Operational Excellence Ensure compliant, effective, and efficient delivery of HR policies, processes, and programs. Drive continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and ways of working. Lead strategic and operational HR projects, including change management and transformation initiatives. Leadership & Team Development Lead and develop an established HR team, fostering capability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Create an environment that enables both business performance and employee engagement. Employee Relations & Governance Lead relationships with employee representative bodies and relevant stakeholders. Provide expert guidance on complex organizational, employee relations, and leadership matters. Data & Insights Leverage HR analytics and workforce data to support informed decision-making and strategic planning. Drive evidence-based HR practices and measure the impact of key people initiatives. Candidate Profile We are seeking a seasoned HR leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and is comfortable operating in a complex international environment. Experience & Background Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience. Proven experience within a multinational and matrixed business environment. Experience partnering with senior leadership teams and influencing business strategy. Strong track record of leading organizational change, transformation, and business-critical HR initiatives. Demonstrated success leading and developing established HR teams. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Strong business acumen and strategic mindset. Highly analytical, with an affinity for HR systems, data, and technology. Excellent stakeholder management, coaching, and influencing skills. Strong communication and negotiation capabilities. Comfortable balancing long-term strategic priorities with operational delivery. Decisive, structured, and able to perform effectively in a dynamic environment. Languages Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the local people strategy and HR function, advising senior leaders and contributing to the local management team on organizational design, talent, workforce planning, and employee relations. Oversee HR operations, employee representative relationships, team development, transformation initiatives, and the use of workforce data to improve business and people outcomes.
Requirements
Requires at least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including work in multinational, matrixed organizations and a record of advising senior leaders, leading change, and developing established HR teams. Candidates should bring strong business acumen, analytical and stakeholder-influencing skills, and fluency in written and spoken Dutch and English.
