Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a GCP FHIR Architect based in Netherlands.
As a GCP FHIR Architect, you’ll design and implement cloud architectures that support secure, scalable healthcare data exchange and interoperability.
You’ll combine deep Google Cloud expertise with hands-on knowledge of healthcare data standards and clinical workflows.
The role focuses on transforming and integrating complex healthcare data using HL7 FHIR and related interoperability technologies.
You’ll work across services such as Cloud Healthcare API, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and other GCP capabilities to support high-throughput workloads.
You’ll also ensure that architectures meet demanding security, privacy, and regulatory requirements across healthcare environments.
The position requires strong technical ownership, from architecture and data modeling through integration, processing, and delivery.
This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced cloud architect who can bridge healthcare interoperability requirements with modern cloud engineering.
- Design end-to-end Google Cloud reference architectures for ingesting, processing, storing, and serving clinical data using HL7 FHIR standards.
- Architect and implement healthcare data solutions using GCP Healthcare Data Engine, Cloud Healthcare API, BigQuery, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and related services.
- Develop scalable, high-throughput workflows for healthcare data processing and interoperability.
- Build integration pipelines that transform legacy healthcare formats, including HL7 v2, C-CDA, DICOM, and X12 EDI, into FHIR resources and JSON structures.
- Design and implement healthcare data mappings, transformations, and integration patterns across disparate clinical systems.
- Apply appropriate cloud security and identity architectures using IAM, KMS, Data Loss Prevention, and related controls.
- Ensure cloud solutions align with healthcare and data protection requirements, including HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR, and SOC 2.
- Develop data models and architectures that support healthcare analytics across relational and NoSQL environments.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to translate healthcare interoperability requirements into scalable architectural solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across architecture, integration, data engineering, security, and cloud implementation activities.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, including at least 3 years focused on GCP healthcare solutions.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of HL7 FHIR, including STU3 and R4, FHIR profiling, resources, bundles, and RESTful API operations.
- Strong expertise with GCP services including Cloud Healthcare API, BigQuery, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions or Cloud Run, and IAM.
- Proven experience designing and implementing healthcare interoperability and data integration solutions.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare data formats including HL7 v2, C-CDA, DICOM, and X12 EDI.
- Experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or equivalent GCP-native mapping and integration capabilities.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases and healthcare-focused data modeling.
- Understanding of cloud security, privacy, and compliance requirements within healthcare environments.
- Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure architectures for complex clinical data workflows.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote contract environment.
Benefits:
- Remote contract position.
- Opportunity to work on healthcare cloud architecture and clinical data interoperability.
- Hands-on exposure to GCP Healthcare Data Engine, Cloud Healthcare API, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and related technologies.
- Opportunity to design solutions supporting large-scale healthcare data workflows.
- Work at the intersection of cloud architecture, healthcare interoperability, data engineering, and security.
- Opportunity to contribute to complex healthcare technology initiatives in a flexible remote environment.

About Jobgether
Industry: Internet Marketplace Platforms
Company size: 11-50 employees
Jobgether is a career navigation platform built for senior professionals competing in the remote job market. Hiring systems were designed for volume and keyword matching, not for 15 or 20 years of nonlinear experience. That structural mismatch is why strong profiles get filtered out before a human ever sees them. Our platform diagnoses where a search is breaking, corrects how experience is positioned, and connects professionals to the companies where their background creates real value. The goal is not more applications. It is the right visibility in the right places. Our mission is to ensure no senior professional remains invisible in the global remote market, not because they lack the skills, but because the system failed to read them correctly.
