Job Description
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for complex financial and banking data environments.
- Translate business requirements into scalable and well-structured data models supporting Investment Banking or Wealth Management functions.
- Work closely with business analysts, data architects, developers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and define appropriate data structures.
- Define entities, attributes, relationships, keys, hierarchies, and data definitions across enterprise data domains.
- Ensure data models support reporting, analytics, data integration, and downstream applications.
- Analyse existing data structures and recommend improvements to data quality, consistency, and scalability.
- Maintain data modelling standards, documentation, and metadata in accordance with enterprise data governance practices.
- 6+ years of overall IT experience in data modelling, data architecture, data engineering, or a closely related data discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
- Relevant experience in Investment Banking or Wealth Management is essential.
- Good understanding of financial services data domains, processes, and terminology.
- Experience working with relational databases, SQL, data warehouses, and enterprise data platforms.
- Proficiency with data modelling tools such as Erwin Data Modeler, ER/Studio, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of data structures, normalization, dimensional modelling, and data relationships.
- Experience working with large and complex datasets in enterprise environments.
- Good understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata, and master/reference data concepts.
- Analyse complex business requirements and convert them into effective data models.
- Understand and model financial data relevant to Investment Banking or Wealth Management.
- Work effectively with business and technical stakeholders across different teams.
- Identify data dependencies, gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies within existing data models.
- Create clear and comprehensive data model documentation and maintain modelling standards.
- Communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple data modelling activities while meeting project timelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, data engineers, and business teams throughout the data lifecycle.
