Join us as (Pre-Opening) Meetings & Events Coordinator We’re getting ready to bring The Usual to life in an existing Amsterdam hotel and we’re looking for a Meetings & Events Coordinator who wants to be part of it from the very beginning. This is not only coordinating meetings and events. You’ll help bring our brand to life while building on the relationships that are already there. You’ll connect with existing clients, introduce them to everything The Usual has to offer and actively work to retain and grow their business. At the same time, you’ll attract new clients and turn our meeting & event spaces into places people genuinely want to be. You combine great hospitality with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset. The role Creating great events & growing business Handle meeting & event enquiries from first contact to confirmation, including proposals, contracts and invoicing, with a strong focus on conversion. Build strong relationships with existing clients, introduce them to our new brand and actively work to retain and grow their business. Identify opportunities to attract new clients, grow our Meetings & Events business and upsell our F&B and event offering. Lead site visits and bring our spaces, brand and experience to life for prospective clients. Coordinate all event details, including room setups, equipment and F&B packages. Be hands-on and work operational shifts during meetings and events, taking ownership on the day and making sure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. One team, one hotel Collaborate closely with Reservations, Revenue, Brand and F&B to continuously improve our proposition and commercial performance. Become fully trained in group room bookings, so you can support Reservations during busy periods, holidays and other periods of absence. Get to know (y)our hotel from the inside out. You’ll occasionally support other operational shifts too. After all, you should know what you’re selling! What You'll Bring To The Table At least 2 years of relevant experience in Meetings & Events or a similar hospitality role. A natural host with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset. You’re organised, take ownership and enjoy building relationships and turning opportunities into bookings. You’re excited about building something new and helping shape our Meetings & Events proposition in Amsterdam. Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus. You’re comfortable working with hotel and event systems. Experience with Event Temple, Lightspeed or Apaleo is a plus. Availability for 3 days per week, mainly on weekdays, with flexibility to occasionally work evenings and weekends. You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands. What's in it for you? Core Responsibilities

Manage meeting and event enquiries from initial contact through proposals, contracts, invoicing, and booking confirmation, while retaining existing clients and attracting new business. Coordinate event details and work hands-on during events, collaborate with hotel teams to improve commercial performance, and support group room bookings and other operational shifts as needed.

Requirements

Applicants need at least two years of relevant Meetings & Events or similar hospitality experience, a strong hosting and commercial mindset, and the ability to build client relationships and convert opportunities into bookings. Fluency in English, comfort with hotel and event systems, availability for three days per week with occasional evening and weekend flexibility, and legal authorization to work in the Netherlands are required; additional languages and experience with Event Temple, Lightspeed, or Apaleo are advantageous.
