Analytical Chemist Full-time | Onsite | Leiden, Netherlands SeraNovo develops oral formulations for small-molecule drugs that are difficult to deliver effectively. Our NanoGlass technology is designed to generate amorphous drug nanoparticles during dissolution, helping address bioavailability challenges. We work with emerging biotechs and global pharmaceutical companies, including AstraZeneca, Boehringer Ingelheim and Johnson & Johnson. We’re looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our small team in Leiden. Your results will help guide formulation decisions across multiple development projects. You’ll also have the opportunity to improve our analytical workflows and how the laboratory operates. Approximately 75% of the role is analytical work and 25% is laboratory operations. You’ll report to SeraNovo’s Analytical Lead. What you’ll do Develop and run UPLC methods for small-molecule drug substances and formulations using Waters systems and Empower. Support method verification and validation, formulation testing and stability studies. Review and interpret results, investigate unexpected findings and document your work clearly. Work closely with analytical and formulation scientists across several projects. Help manage laboratory inventory, shipments, equipment servicing and day-to-day organisation. Identify practical improvements to methods and lab workflows, test them with the team and put effective changes into practice. What you bring A degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Around two years or more of relevant analytical laboratory experience, ideally in pharmaceutical industry or CDMO work. Hands-on experience analysing small molecules by HPLC or UPLC, including practical method development. Experience with method verification or validation and stability testing. A careful, organised approach to your work and the initiative to solve problems rather than simply pass them on. Experience with Waters UPLC systems, Empower, instrument troubleshooting or laboratory coordination is an advantage. Why join SeraNovo? Core Responsibilities

Requirements

A degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related field—or equivalent relevant experience—is required, along with around two or more years of relevant analytical laboratory experience. Candidates should have hands-on HPLC or UPLC experience with small molecules, practical method development, and experience with method verification or validation and stability testing.
