Science Communication | Writing internship: technology storytelling Introduction The Product Communications team within ASML’s Communications sector helps explain some of the world’s most advanced technology in a clear and engaging way. As an intern, you will help translate complex scientific and engineering topics into content that informs and inspires different audiences. You will work with communication professionals, content creators, engineers, and technology experts to bring technical stories to life. This internship offers hands-on experience in science communication within a leading deep-tech company. Your assignment During this internship, you will contribute to ongoing content projects while leading your own internship project from concept to publication. You will learn how communication supports technology and innovation in an international organization. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will help create content that connects technical expertise with audiences ranging from engineers and students to the general public. Your main responsibilities will be: Create engaging social media content about ASML technology and innovation. Research complex technical topics and translate them into clear, accessible stories. Develop content concepts for articles, short-form videos, animations, and digital campaigns. Collaborate with subject-matter experts to validate technical accuracy and context. Identify interesting stories behind technologies, engineering challenges, and people. Monitor content performance and recommend improvements based on audience insights. Contribute fresh ideas and formats that support ASML’s content strategy. We ask that you submit a writing sample together with your CV so we can better understand your writing style and communication skills. If you used AI tools during the writing or editing process, please indicate this clearly. This internship primarily focuses on practical work experience. However, there is also the possibility to combine the assignment with thesis research when relevant. This is a bachelor’s or master’s thesis internship for minimum 5 months, minimum 5 days per week (Hybrid). The start date of this internship is as of February 2027. Your profile To be suitable for the internship, you: Are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in communication science, applied communication science, journalism, science communication, or a related field. Can share a writing sample (preferably science/tech-focused) along with your CV. Have excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Are curious, analytical, and able to explain complex topics in a simple and engaging way. Are collaborative and comfortable working with technical experts and different stakeholders. Are proactive, detail-oriented, and open to receiving feedback. The following experience is considered an advantage: Affinity with physics, engineering, semiconductors, or other applied sciences. Experience creating written content for social media, newsletters, blogs, magazines, or student publications. Other requirements you need to meet: You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship, and you are at least 18 years old at the start of the internship; If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement); You attach your cover letter with a clear motivation on why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular; You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship.
